DEPLOY AUTOMATED PROCESS WORKFLOWS
iGrafx 2015 introduces the ability to design and deploy automated process workflows from within the
iGrafx environment. Automating processes has been proven to help reduce costs and increase
efficiencies of processes that can be standardized. iGrafx provides business groups the flexibility to
define how processes are to be carried out and deploy automated steps for process users to follow with
limited IT involvement. Transparency into process performance gives process owners and business
managers the necessary information needed to adapt the process design or supporting resources, and
the control to quickly enable changes.
iGrafx Process Automation
iGrafx Process Automation’s model-driven process design ensures the seamless synchronization of
models and real-life deployment of process workflow. The rapid design and deployment capabilities of
smartforms and distribution of tasks give business groups the agility they often lack in IT-driven process
implementation projects. Process performers are guided through processes with structured,
standardized task assignments, reducing lead times by timely communication of next steps. Process
errors are reduced by ensuring adherence to the process design. Process owners can monitor work
progress and take action to remedy bottlenecks or issues as well as guarantee compliance traceability
for internal and external audits.
1. Design
By simply describing how work needs to be done in a graphical process model, business groups can bring
their processes to life as an executable application without programming. Deploying the workflow
What’s New in iGrafx® 2015 January 2015 Page 5 of 14
applications is accomplished in a single click.
Define automation parameters and instructions as properties on activities in BPMN diagrams.
Enter information such as who can start the process, who perform tasks for each process step,
time constraints and links to other IT systems.
Design forms for data input that initiates a process or fulfills process steps.
Create a user-friendly single interface to other business systems, such as ERP or ECM
applications, to fill existing gaps in human workflow steps and ensure the integrity of system
data. Integrate tasks and data from multiple systems for a smooth workflow.
Accelerate design time with best practice templates for many standard processes:
o Sales, Services, Human Resources, Finance
o Information Technology, Quality Management, Process Management
o Manufacturing, Logistics
2. Run
Communicate clearly to process participants step by step, decreasing throughput and lead times, and
making sure that no task falls through the cracks. The intuitive ToDo Client view provides clear
information to each employee, helping move processes along more quickly and ensuring appropriate
handoffs.

Personalized ToDo task list helps process participants work efficiently, prioritizing all open tasks
of every open process instance and ensuring that no task is missed.
Required fields and approved decision paths guide employees through the process and ensure
compliance.
Flexible ad-hoc task creation allows documenting process exceptions where allowed, to keep
the process moving and provide visibility into how processes might need to be adapted in the
future.
The Live View of the process model assists process participants with understanding where they
are in the process for each process instance.
3. Monitor and Improve
iGrafx Process Automation provides process owners visibility into how transactions are progressing,
allowing them to intervene quickly if there is an issue or bottleneck. The Process Manager Client and
Process Monitoring Client present comprehensive information at a glance to empower process owners
to ensure processes are performing as planned. This information also provides a base for analysis,
highlighting where problems may be alleviated by altering the workflow rules.

Quick snapshot views of process status give the process manager insight to progress and / or
problems. Aggregate views of work queues help to allocate resources accordingly.
Comprehensive query and reporting informs process owners if all steps have been completed,
ensuring process control and assisting in quality compliance.
Capture information of how processes perform in real life: How long do things really take?
Which process exceptions have been needed and how often? Process transparency provides the
basis for analysis and rapid process improvement by the business group. Transactional data can
be used in iGrafx simulation capabilities for enhanced continuous improvement analysis.

COMMUNICATE AND SHARE PROCESS DOCUMENTATION EASIER
Nobody documents processes just to file them away – they are meant to be communicated and shared! iGrafx 2015 facilitates sharing valuable information about how work gets done across your company and to important stakeholders.
Process Narrative
Your process models may describe a process flow and stop there, or contain information about how many other business factors interact with the process: resources, risks and controls, goals and measurements, and many others. Consolidate any or all of whatever information you’ve captured about a process in a single document that is easy to share with stakeholders either inside or outside of your organization. With a simple publishing step, create detailed written documentation of your process model to share as Requirements documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, or to support quality audits.
Publish to Microsoft Word meaningful information at a document, process diagram and activity shape level within a given iGrafx process document (.igx). Available information includes

flowcharts, relationships to enterprise objects, custom properties, repository properties, RACI, notes, document history and document lifecycle.
Revision History of the full document lifecycle and workflow including reviews, approvals and endorsements
Customizable templates provide full flexibility in choosing types of information to include as well as document layout and design
The process narrative feature is available as an extension to all iGrafx modeling clients – contact your sales representative for more information.
Predefined printing pagination from the web browser
Print process models from your browser the way process model authors intended. Print settings are
inherited from the page setup properties of the source diagram when checked-in to the repository,
resulting in identical web and client application print output. Alternate settings can also be applied at
the time of printing if different pagination is desired.
Intelligent Diagram Indicators enhance visual communication
Indicators provide a visual clue to important information about a process. Indicators are icons, text or styling effects added to shapes based on special conditions. iGrafx 2015 extends the ability to customize these conditions to include evaluating when fields on the shape either contain or not contain certain text or phrases. Example: Certain process activities fulfill regulatory requirements, some of which are FDA requirements; the model includes relationships between these requirement objects and activity objects. Custom indicators are used to define that shapes will be a certain color depending on their connection to a regulatory requirement. The diagram that describes the process automatically color codes the activity shapes: Blue for an FDA requirement relationship, Purple for a non-FDA requirement relationship, and Gray for shapes that aren’t related to any regulatory requirement.

ROLE-CENTRIC NAVIGATION
Role-Based Portal
Enterprise models can contain an enormous amount of information: processes, objectives, requirements, business rules, supporting documentation, and more. iGrafx gives you a way to easily view and navigate all enterprise information that directly pertains to your role within the organization. Login using any browser to see your home page displaying your primary responsibilities and any objects where you are responsible, accountable, consulted or informed (RACI). Also use the role-based portal to quickly consult the RACI relationships of others in your organization. Get back to your own page quickly with the My Home button.
Since people can perform more than one role, drill into specific roles to understand the responsibilities particular to that work aspect.

BUILD MULTI-LINGUAL MODELS FASTER
Languages Find
With the latest iGrafx release, you can find and improve model translations quickly without needing to manually scroll all content for the terms that must be enhanced. The new Find and Find Next buttons in the Languages dialog enables fast navigation across the repository to quickly find terms to be modified. In addition, the editor is now synchronized with the repository tree so that the context of each term is visible while entering the translation. Inversely, after selecting a term in the repository tree or diagram and then invoking the Languages dialog, that term is highlighted in the dialog and immediately ready for editing.

MANAGE SAP GLOBAL IMPLEMENTATIONS
SAP Global Template Project Modeling
iGrafx 2015 helps businesses running SAP® across multiple locations to efficiently manage initial rollout
and subsequent changes, as well as manage local variations.
SAP Global Template Projects are used in SAP implementations to manage the process definitions of a
global rollout. A global template is used to define the general process definition that is to be replicated
across multiple local implementation projects. Using a global template saves time over duplicating the
same change manually in local projects, and reduces potential errors or unwanted variations. iGrafx
2015 repositories synchronized with SAP Solution Manager allow iGrafx Process® for SAP users to edit
and manage global project templates to more efficiently push changes to local implementations,
reinforcing standardization across geographies.
SAP® Solution Manager® global template projects can now be synchronized with iGrafx 2015 repositories.
Edit template projects as well as create new process definitions in iGrafx, and push changes to SAP for local evaluation and implementation.
Leverage Cross-Project shortcuts to reference template project from implementation projects.
