• Analytics Explorer is a state-of-the-art data science platform. Integrating IHS Markit analytics ready data with client proprietary data from IHSM software and other sources allows for a more robust analysis and better collaboration across disciplines.

> This template allows you to classify your seismic and geological attributes over a horizon or grid. The classification is done using Self Organizing Map algorithm, a very sophisticated classification technique based on neural networks.

> This algorithm, used in conjunction with Principal Component Analysis, will benefit geophysicists in finding answers like identify different stratigraphic or structural features and how they are related to production.

> This template gets populated with selected Kingdom deviation surveys points. Once the data is in there using the option in Right Mouse Button Click > Compute Well Spacing, Kingdom Analytics computes well spacing at every single point of the deviation surveys. The output is information about the nearest and second nearest distance and well at every deviation survey point of every well.

• Percentage in Zone Template

> This template gets populated with selected Kingdom deviation surveys points. Once the data is loaded using the option in the main menu Tools > Kingdom Analytics > Compute Zones, the user select the depth grids, formation tops or zones in stratigraphic order (younger at the top). The output is information about all the zones the high deviated or horizontal wells are crossing and the percentage in every zone.

Analytics Explorer Functionality

• Analytics Explorer is not only restricted to the provided sample templates. In addition to the tools that Spotfire already provides for multi-variate analytics, proprietary algorithms are embedded to compute derivative data, variable reduction, and machine learning predictions for leverage by all in the asset team (geotechs, geologists, petrophysicists, geophysicists, engineers). All the embedded computations output the results in automated generated dashboards.

• The following options in Analytics Explorer provide valuable insights and are explained further:

> Select Kingdom data to analyze and save outputs back to Kingdom, including well subsets and seismic surveys subsets

> Select Harmony data to analyze and save Custom Groups back the Harmony.

> Highlight wells, grids and control points into Kingdom Spatial Explorer. Highlight faults in VuPaK

> Generate interval tables from formation tops table and keep them synchronized with Kingdom interpretation

> Compute Distance Grid

> Compute Well Spacing

> Compute Zones

Select data to Analyze and Save outputs back to Kingdom

• From Kingdom or Well Explorer go to Project > Analytics Explorer

• Send to Spotfire current author data or multiple authors, selection for well subsets and summary tables.

• Other data types are tables that typically have multiple samples, several instances of the same attribute per well. Select only the data needed to deliver a specific workflow. By clicking in any of the details tables, the you have additional selection options applicable to the features of every table.

• When sending zones or interval tables to Spotfire, Kingdom Analytics computes the X and Y location at either the beginning of the interval, the midpoint, or the last point.

Select data to Analyze and Save outputs back to Kingdom

• By clicking Right Mouse Button > Kingdom Analytics Kingdom Analytics displays the options available for the active data table or chart. With Kingdom Analytics you can:

> Select only one well in Well Explorer

> Save wells and surveys as Kingdom subsets

> Save any table with X and Y columns as control point in Kingdom to create new maps. This includes maps from interval or zones tables as KA always computes the X and Y coordinates when the data is sent to Spotfire

> Save directly new generated grids, zone attributes, interval attributes, and digital logs from analytics into Kingdom

> Kingdom Analytics can either attach to existing Spotfire templates or add external tables to a KA template. Data from external tables can be saved into the Kingdom database through Kingdom Analytics

Formation Top tables to Intervals

• Automatically create an interval table from a Formation Top table.

> Easily enhance your cross sections by adding formation-related attributes through interval tables: chronostratigraphic columns, paleontology, geochemistry, etc.

> Interval ranges are created automatically based on stratigraphic formation depths.

> If formation top interpretation changes in Kingdom, the interval table is also updated.

> Use the advance computation engine from Spotfire to create new interval attributes or merge the attributes from other sources.

> Right click in the table and select Kingdom Analytics > Save formation tops as Interval Attributes

Compute Distance Grids

• Analytics Explorer can create distance grids from deviation surveys points. Send the Deviation survey points table to Spotfire. From a table, map or scatter plot displaying the survey points, make the area selection where the computes will take place, Right mouse button > IHS Markit Analytics Explorer > Compute distance grid. Specify the cell size to adjust to the desired level of detail.

• Send the results back to Kingdom as a grid to over post to your property maps to account for drainage areas.

Compute Well Spacing

• Send the Deviation survey points table to Spotfire, from a table, map or scatter plot displaying the survey points. . Right click and select IHS Markit Analytics Explorer > Compute well spacing.

• Well Spacing computes in 2D or 3D

> Compute spacing to the two nearest wells at every deviation survey point. The outputs are 4 new columns: Distance to the nearest wellbore, Nearest wellbore ID, Distance to the second nearest wellbore, and Nearest second wellbore ID.

> When this computation is used in the provided Well Spacing template, then summary tables are automatically populated with information about nearest and second nearest: distance at heel, mid point, toe, and nearest wellbore ID at those points.

Compute Zones for horizontal wells

This computation analyzes percentage in zone for horizontal or highly deviated wells.

• Load deviation survey points table from Kingdom

• Access this compute from main menu: Tools > Kingdom Analytics > Compute Zones

• This computation will use either grids, formation tops or zones from Kingdom. It computes the zone at every deviation survey point. None of these tables need to be loaded into Spotfire; they are read from Kingdom directly. Just the deviation survey points are needed in the template for this workflow.

• Select the items (grids, tops, or zones) in stratigraphic order (youngest formation at top). The computes will output a new column in the deviation survey table specifying the zone at every survey point.

• The resulting calculations will populate the statistics in the Percentage in Zone template.

Principal Components Analysis

This algorithm is used to find the most relevant and uncorrelated variables out of many. It is recommended to run it before doing any classification or prediction task

• Access this compute from main menu select Tools > IHS Markit Analytics Explorer> Principal Component Analysis

• Produces low dimension (linear) representation of input space

• Rotate the variable axes based on their covariance

• Linear basis functions, actual data are unchanged

• Good for representing data in low dimensions, finding important variables

• Work with any Kingdom table and because its nature only supports numerical attributes

• PCA should be used in seismic facies analysis before running any unsupervised classification technique

Machine Learning Predictions

Predict any attribute from any table in Kingdom

• Access machine learning predictions from main menu: Tools > IHS Markit Analytics Explorer > Machine Learning Predictions

• This module can be used to fill data gaps only. For example, if if you have digital logs with missing sections, you can use other digital logs to predict the fill in the missing sections.

• Predict an entire new column from any Kingdom table. For example, predict sonic logs in wells where they don’t exist using other logs; predict property grids from seismic attributes; predict any new property in geological intervals or zones; predict product prediction performance.

• Analytics Explorer has access to multiple algorithms for predictions; the most accurate algorithms are clearly exposed to the clients in a simple interface.

• Save the predictive model and run on other data sets.

Production Prediction Workflow

Run advanced machine learning algorithms to predict production performance, create sweet spot maps, and estimate the optimum engineering parameters for your next wells.

• Computations and templates are created automatically after the production metric to predict and the independent variables are selected.

Run Predictive models in another data set or table

If a good predictive model has been built and properly calibrated, you can run other data types over the model or even apply it to other reservoirs with similar characteristics

• Access this option from main menu: Tools > IHS Markit Analytics Explorer > Run Machine Learning Model

• Create a model based on well data and apply to grid tables or horizon tables for map accuracy.

• Run the highly calibrated model to the same data set as new data becomes available, such as new wells.

• Run the model as an exploratory tool to a completely different area if similar characteristics are assumed.
