WhatwillbenewasaresultoftheCCHDReviewandRenewal?1. NewCCHDgrantagreement,applicationandothermaterialsthatspecifymoreclearlywhatCCHDcan

andcannotsupport,linkedtostrongerreviewandmonitoring.

2. NewlanguagethroughoutthatmakesclearCCHDisnotasecularfoundation,butaworkoftheCatholicChurch,outliningourmission,ourprinciplesandourpriorities.

3. ApriorityforCatholicparticipationinfundedprojectstheinvolvementofCatholicparishes,institutionswillbeaplusinconsideringapplications.Theoutdatedprohibitiononfunding

ecclesiasticalentitiesiseliminated.

4. Amorecomprehensive,morerealisticdefinitionofpovertyincludingtheserviceofpriestsandreligiouslivingandworkinginpoorcommunities.

5. Acontinuedrequirementthatpoorpeoplehaveamajorroleindecisionmaking. CCHDwillconsiderothermeasuresoftheparticipationofthosewhoarepoorinadditiontoboardmembership.

6. Largergrantamounts($25,000to$75,000)tomatchtheneedsofgroupsandreducethenumberofgrantstobemonitored.

7. AnewstrategicgrantsprogramwhichusesaportionofCCHDfundstofocusonneglectedissuesandUSCCBprioritiesastheyrelatetopoverty.

8. NewstructurestoassistCCHDinapplyingitsprohibitionsonfundinggroupswhichactinconflictwithCatholicsocialandmoralteachingastaffpositiononCCHDmissionandidentity,aconsulting

relationshipwithamoraltheologianandaCCHDReviewBoard.

9. CCHDwillstrengthentheunderstandingthatCCHDisimportantnotjustforwhatitdoes,butforhowit

demonstrates

who

we

are

and

what

we

believe

as

Catholics.
