A day filled with activities all about getting to know each other, our backgrounds, things we like to do, what we are good at, what we need help with and what we are looking forward to doing these holidays.
Tuesday 7
th January
WATER FUN
Children can participate in a number of water play activities, including sink or float experiments, paper boat sailing challenge and a slip and slide activity. Children may get wet during the day, so be prepared!
Wednesday 8
th January
JEWELLERY MAKING
Food, beads and natural materials will be used to make jewellery, earrings and badges whilst at the program. There will be lots of other activities on offer throughout the day too.
Thursday 9
th January
COMPETITION CHALLENGE DAY
We are planning a day filled with game challenges including: Monopoly Deal, ‘Spit’ and down ball. Children will be able to form teams, creating their own team uniforms/outfits or coming dressed in team colours.
Friday 10
th January
LITTLE WHEELS DAY
Children can bring their bike, scooter or skateboard to the service and spend the day free wheelin’ on the school grounds. * Please bring your ‘little wheels’ and all protective wear ie: helmet, elbow pads and runners.

AMAZING SCIENCE
Children will engage in many different experiences relating to science, including experiments using water, slime and goop. Children may also like to bring in their own experiments to share with the rest of the group.
Tuesday 14

KRYAL CASTLE (EXCURSION)
Children will enter a medieval world of knights, wizards, fairies and goblins and will explore the castle and grounds at Kryal Castle.
Wednesday 15
th January
RECYCLED INSTRUMENTS (IN HOUSE ACTIVITY)
Supreme Incursions will visit the service to run several fun activities aimed at teaching fun ways of recycling. Children will create 2 of their own musical instruments out of recycled materials, which they can take home.
Thursday 16

FREEZY FROZEN TREATS
Summer at Broadmeadows gets hot…so let’s chill out by making icy poles and slurpies and having some summer fun! Lots of water activities will be on offer so children should be prepared to get wet!
Friday 17

MESSY PLAY DAY
Children will be able to participate in messy play activities both indoors and outdoors. Playdoh, clay, shaving foam and frozen water play are amongst some of the experiences children will have a chance to enjoy.

LET’S GET PAMPERED
A special day for all of us to get a little pampered with a hair dressing salon, nail painting and relaxation exercises to get us through the day.

MARKET DAY
Educators and children will be able to make, build and set up activities for a “market” where children can open up jewellery stalls, food stalls, performances & shows or even fortune telling ….
Wednesday 22
nd January
HANDS ON REPTILE SHOW (IN HOUSE ACTIVITY)
Roaming Reptiles will visit the service and bring along their reptile friends for the children to meet. Children will touch lizards, frogs, snakes, turtles, and a crocodile and will learn a little more about each creature.

VILLAGE CINEMAS AND PARK (EXCURSION)
Children will go to Buckingham Reserve in Sunshine then visit Village Cinemas to watch ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2’. * Remember to bring some yummy snacks to eat in the cinemas!
Friday 24

SLUMBER PARTY
A fun day in our pyjamas making popcorn, relaxing on the bean bags, watching movies and “chillaxing”. * Children can wear their pyjamas and bring a change of clothes if they wish.

CONNECTING WITH NATURE
The children at Craigieburn love gardening, so we have planned more gardening activities for these holidays. Today we will be making a variety of birdfeeders to encourage birds to visit your gardens.

WORLD OF DANCE
Can you waltz? Can you do the chicken dance? How about the zorba? Let’s share what we know about different dance styles and learn some new moves.

WATER FUN IN THE SUN
Let’s bring the beach to our program for the day! Be prepared to get wet as we have lots of different water activities planned for today. * Remember to bring a change of clothes!

SPORTS CHALLENGE DAY
Participate in lots of various sports challenges today, with an organised football match and basketball game planned for educators and children. Children will be able create their own team uniforms/outfits for the day.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Dress up as a wacky professor and bring along your inquisitive minds! There will be experiments using water, slime and goop. Children may also like to bring in their own experiments to share with the rest of the group.

Dress up as an explorer and be prepared to hunt for hidden treasure. Working in groups, children will challenge one another by creating word hunts and treasure maps for teams to find.

KIDS IN THE KITCHEN
We will be making refreshing summer foods such as fruit salad, edible bracelets and pancakes with ice-cream! Bring along some recipes to share.

Back by popular demand! Children can choose from various recipes to prepare yummy juices and smoothies to share. Cooking equipment will be available for children to role model this popular play experience.
