The webinar series is presented by the Family and Children’s Resource Program, part of the Jordan Institute for
Families at the UNC-Chapel Hill, School of Social Work. Since 1993, the FCRP team has provided training, technical
assistance and consultation for human services staff members across the state of North Carolina as well as nationally
and internationally. FCRP also publishes Fostering Perspectives, Children Services Practice Notes, Training Matters
and MRS! and focuses on current research, evidence based practices, and initiatives for agency directors, supervisors
and social workers.

Over the past 35 years, suicide has more than tripled among adolescents, and risk has also
increased among younger children. In this workshop, Jodi Flick will identify the most important
risk factors for suicide in young people and describe the most effective interventions in
prevention of suicide with at-risk children and their families. She will also discuss guidelines
