when you see an advertisement

When you see an advertisement, whether it be in a newspaper, magazine, or on television, do you pay attention to the statistics that are given? For example, “Four out of five dentists have chosen Brand X toothpaste over other brands.” Do you ever think about who those four out of five dentists are and the source of the statistics?· Do any of the scientific foundations upon which psychology was based still make sense today? Can you think of any of the contemporary approaches that may still use some of the concepts of these foundations?· Can psychologists really fully understand human behavior? We say that the basis of psychological research is to understand human behavior, but is this possible considering that all human beings are separate individuals and no two people are exactly alike? When I see an advertisement on a newspaper or magazine which says “four out of five dentists have chosen Brand X toothpaste over other brands.” I think that those results are biased and those four out of five dentist probably get free things and/or money from the tooth paste company. That is the reason I don’t pay attention to those statistics. Scientific foundation
