Where is wisdom for living to be
found?
Isaiah 11:1-3
A shoot shall come out from the stock of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. 2 The spirit of the Lord shall rest on him,the spirit of wisdom and understanding,the spirit of counsel and might,the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. 3 His delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.
Human wisdom
•Conveyed by ‘lofty words’ and ‘plausible speech’
•A wisdom of ‘this age’
•And of the ‘rulers of this age’
God’s wisdom
•Goes back before the creation of the world
•Inaccessible to the rulers of this age
•Revealed to us by the Spirit
•Consists of the ‘mind of Christ’
