Initial Advising

Page 5: “Where the Action Is” Main Campus-College of Health Sciences

Each student will be assigned a faculty advisor that will assist with scheduling classes, curriculum mapping & planning your future

Make it a point to meet your advisor during the first 2 weeks of the fall semester. Email them to set up a short meeting or stop by during their office hours for a quick introduction

Be sure to ask how they will be handling advising appointments around scheduling dates

More Advising

Page 6: “Where the Action Is” Main Campus-College of Health Sciences

Scheduling is completed on-line You will need to meet with your advisor to

have your “flag” removed (this is a scheduling hold)

Once your advisor removes your flag you will be allowed to schedule on your designated time/date

Familiarize yourself with the scheduling system

Make sure you complete the process – some students do not complete the last step and have not been enrolled in their classes

Page 8: “Where the Action Is” Main Campus-College of Health Sciences

Almost all of our programs have some sort of internship requirement (student teaching, clinical hours, etc) and most are off-campus

Pay attention to the pre-requisitess for these experiences – be sure to have all required paperwork/certifications completed too

If it is a policy issue, refer to the Undergraduate Catalog or the Ram’s Eye View
