StopLossesBeforeIevenlookatputtingmymoneyintoatrade,IwillsetupmyStopLosses.Thisisacrucialpartofmargintrading,especiallysowithleverageinplay.AStopLosswillsaveyourpositionfromeverapproachinghugelossesorworse,LIQUIDATION!ThisisonesectionwhereBitMEXhasusalltiedupinanunpleasantsituation.Now,IabsolutelyhatepayingTakerFees(I’llexplaintheseindetaillaterintheguide),buttheStopLossprocessmakesitalmostunavoidable.Hereisanexamplethatwecanfollowalongwith:

HowtoExitaPositionThereareafewwaysyoucanexityourtradesandsecurethosegains.OneoftheeasiestistolookinthePositionspaneandfindtheboxattheveryendthatsaysClosePosition.Youcaninputaspecificvalueinthisbox,clickCloseandaLimitOrderwillbeplacedforyoutocloseyourposition.Again,thereistheoptiontoexitatMarketprice,butaswearesmarttraders,wedon’twanttouseMarketentryandexits.MakesurethatyourCloseOrdermakesittotheOrderbooksoyoucangettheMakerRebateagain,asopposedtopayingtheTakerFeetoexit.

HowtoChaseProfitsInmyopinion,oneofthetrickiestthingsispickinganExitfromyourtradeswhentheyareinprofitandwhenyou’vemadeamistakeandtheyareinloss.TAcanhelpyoudecideonanareawhereyouthinkapricemovementwillslow,orturnaroundcompletely.SoyoushoulddefinitelybaseyourExitoffpredeterminedpricepoints.However,therearetimeswhenthepricegoesbeyondyourexpectationsandanythingfromthereonarejustfurtherprofitsforyou.SoyouwillwanttochasetheseprofitswithanExitStrategyjustincasethepricereversesandstartsclimbingbacktopreviouslevels,whichwouldeatintoyourprofits.AtacticIuseforthisistokeepadjustingmyClosePositionorderbyincrementsasthepriceismovinginmyfavour.OnceIamhappywithmyprofitIwillplaceaClosePositionorderjustabitabove/belowthecurrentpricelevel(dependingifI’mShortorLong).Thatway,iftherewasareversal,mypositionwouldcloseonmyLimitOrderandI’dbeinprofit.Itisalsohandyfortimeswhenthepricestaysontrackandkeepsfalling/risingpastthepointIwasalreadyhappywith.IcanmakefurthergainsfromthelevelIwasalreadywillingtoaccept.SoIwillkeepadjustingtheClosePositionordereverytimethepricedropsanother2-5%.Keepinmindthatthismarketmovesinwavesandaftertheuptherewillbeadown.Pickyourtargetsbylookingatthewaythemarketismovingandadjustaccordingly.

2. ForthisparticulartradeIsetmyentries30pointsapartat8336,8366,8396,8426,8456and8486.Idonotalwaysuse30points,butthistradesuiteditperfectly.

3. Iliketoworkwith4-6staggeredentriespertrade.Anymoremeansthat
