The Barclay Jones Directors
In 2008 we created Barclay Jones
We are Wayne Barclay and Lisa Jones and have been working together since 2000, where we joined forces in a UK recruitment firm, and grew their IT department into an award-winning strategic solution, beating the likes of HBoS and Royal bank of Scotland.
This totally went to our heads and we moved on to become Directors of other recruitment firms managing IT and Operations.

Wayne Barclay
As a youngster Wayne decided
that Spectrums were too
common. He decided to buy
an Amstrad 64k with tape deck
and colour monitor. He ruled
at Roland on the Ropes and
Harrier Attack.
He was the Archimedes flight
simulator champion during his
school days and upgraded to a
DX2-66 during university days
and a green screen Dell laptop,
on which he wrote his
dissertation.
After University he worked as a
director in the recruitment
sector. He developed a strategic
approach to IT and built a great
working relationship with Lisa.
They won Computing's IT
Department of the Year.
Wayne specialises in recruitment technology,
CRM and website implementation, is a virtual
IT director, and loves business process
mapping and re-engineering. You'll find him
working with growing recruitment firms in
need of a project manager and technology
lead.

Lisa Jones
Lisa owned a Spectrum 48k as
a youngster and loved playing
Jet Set Willy and Chuckie Egg.
Daley Thompson's Decathlon
was a highlight!
She managed to get through
school before computers
became the norm and
upgraded to an Amiga pc
(which booted up from disk) to
write her dissertation whilst at
University.
She became Head of IT
for a recruitment
company, and with
Wayne and won
Computing's IT
Department of the Year -
beating some major
corporations.
Lisa has worked in a number of
Recruitment, IT, Web and Operations
director-level roles. She is a training and
strategy junkie with keen eyes on the
business process. You'll see her
speaking at many recruitment industry
events and being a recruitment
technology and social media evangelist
online.

Jay Corben
Jay’s technology adventures
started with a ZX Spectrum and
a love of Jet-Pac and Hungry
Horace however, with two
brothers and one Spectrum,
her opportunities to reach Mr
Miagi level skills were
somewhat limited!
After university her career
encompassed a variety of roles
and sectors culminating in a
number of years in recruitment
where she first met Lisa and
Wayne.
Jay loves social media and speedy
tech and is allegedly surgically
attached to either her iPad or iPhone
- sometimes both at the same time!
An organiser, list creator, completer and
general all round ‘get it done’ type, she is
the swiss army knife at Barclay Jones. She’s
is a multi-tasking organiser and is
instrumental in the day to day running of the
business.

Matt Hull
Matt’s introduction to
technology consisted of
Kickstart on the
commodore 64 but kicked
into gear when going head
to head against his mates
on Mario Kart for the SNES.
More recently he has
developed an obsession
with Apple products from
the phone up to iMac and
will be joining the queue for
the Apple watch when it’s
released soon.
Working for a CRM provider
for a number of years, Matt
has built up vast experience,
working closely with his
clients to deliver varied
projects across many
different industries.
Joining Barclay Jones as
a project Manager, Matt
will be using his
experience to continue
delivering CRM and web
projects for Barclay
Jones.

Rose Megson
A late adopter of
technology, Rose has
brief memories of playing
on a Sega Master Drive
when all the cool kids had
a Mega Drive. Sonic the
Hedgehog and Alex the
Kidd!!!
IT wasn’t on the top of the
Rose’s agenda during the
school years, although
somehow she attained an A*
for GCSE in IT. Rose much
preferred watching rugby
league than playing on
computers. Although she did
like the odd game of Street
Fighter.
Rose’s tech life started in
schools, working within
an IT department of a
large school, then moving
into tech and training in a
large international
recruitment company as
their IT Training
Consultant.
Rose brings her 12 years of
recruitment and tech
experience to Barclay
Jones and has joined our
training division to help
recruiters become more
effective using CRM and
social media tools. She is
most likely to say “I really
love CRM!”

Mike Jewsbury
As a 6 year old Mike shared a
Spectrum ZX with his sister that
his dad won in a work raffle. The 3
cassette loading process in order
to play "Oh Mummy" was
apparently worth every hour?!
The '90s saw an upgrade to the
Atari ST and Mike blames Golden
Axe for the vast amount of Joy
Sticks he went through. Having
such advanced technology did
make him quite popular at school
for a few months though.
Mike grabbed the opportunity to
be a Recruiter with both hands.
He worked his way from a temp
industrial and commercial
consultant to Regional Account
Manager. Mike's true calling was
L&D and training. In 2006 he
became a business systems
trainer.
Mike is a recruitment technology junkie and
is responsible for training Recruiters to
maximise value from Social Media and CRM.
His experience as a recruiter is invaluable
and he has a nack for turning "techlish" into
insightful content that all recruiters relate to.

Rob Allen
Rob loved playing Lemmings on his
first Acorn computer, and quickly
discovered he loved all things tech.
Dissecting an old TV and getting to
smash up a cathode-ray tube to see
what was inside was a childhood
highlight.
The best strategist at Age of
Empires, launching virtual
rockets into space, learning
how to set up and run
Minecraft servers - the
passion for technology and
gaming which had been
nurtured from an Acorn
(excuse the pun!) grew as a
teenager.
He became a social media whiz kid
whilst at University, getting a feel for
it as a society president and
increasing his skills by volunteering
as a Social Media Marketing Officer
for a Leeds based charity.
He joined Barclay Jones as a Social Media
Community Manager, and will be shaking up our
social media whilst helping to keep us abreast of
all new developments in the recruitment tech
sector.

Born into the gaming
generation, Vikram loved his
PS1. From Spyro to Crash
Bandicoot, Vikram travelled
across the virtual world,
completing missions and
defeating evil villains.
Throughout his teenage
years, his passion for
sport witnessed the start
of his FIFA career. He
never forgot his love for
adventure however,
taking Crash Bandicoot
with him to uni where he
studied History.
At University Vikram
developed his social media
skills. He also developed
his marketing savvy as he
played a key role in
successfully rebranding his
departmental society.
He has joined Barclay
Jones as a Marketing
Executive and works
alongside Rob to
manage our social
streams and deliver
great content to
recruiters and
recruitment leaders.
