Radio Activity S.r.l. is a young and dynamic electronic engineering company
with its operational headquarters in Milan.
The company carries out design and production of wired and wireless equipment
and systems for telecommunications networks in the professional market.
The engineering team to whom the Research and Development is entrusted is
composed of engineers who have completed more than 20 years of experience in
this field at major telecommunications companies.
The deep expertise in the design and implementation of radio frequency
hardware and complete mastery of techniques for programming DSP devices
(Digital Signal Processing), allow us to tackle complex projects and offer
customized solutions to the real needs of the Customer.
The solutions identified are the result of intense work by top-level professionals
with multidisciplinary skills, which skillfufly integrate products and technology.
Radio Activity has advanced techniques, for the establishment of analogical and
digital simulcast radio networks and numerous products for data transmission
and centralization of communications via digital audio matrices based on DSP.
In order to maintain the structure lean and focused on its core business, all
production activities are entrusted to factories specializing in the assembly of
electronic circuit boards and mechanical assembly.
Only strategic assets are maintained inside with high quality levels. Besides of
course hardware and software design, we control the choice of valuable
components and final testing of equipment and network. This will guarantee the
continuous updating of the used components and total quality control of external
processes.
All equipment to be delivered undergo a period of active "burn in" to clear the
phenomenon of early defects.
For an optimal service to the customer, the installation and technical support of
first level, are usually entrusted to local factories, which can quickly respond to
requests for intervention.
The supervision and technical assistance of second level is carried out by Radio
Activity, through remote control to drive the local staff through the
rehabilitation or any changes and SW updates.

���� Professional Radio Networks (P.M.R)
Synchronous or simulcast analogical radio networks.
The simulcast radio networks represent the best solution to the communication
needs in areas of large or complex relief.
They are the most sophisticated analogue systems that allow the creation of vast
areas of coverage, open to the most common radio terminals and at low cost.
Radio Activity has products that can cover a wide range of applications in the
VHF band (also 70 MHz) and UHF, largely configurable for star, tree or line
networks, with links between the stations via wire (multiplex), via radio (UHF
link), via fiber optic, or via “over the mains” communication in mixed mode.
Synchronous or simulcast Digital radio networks (DMR).
The new digital modulation techniques, applied to the private radio market, will
allow a new achievement in the development of complex mobile networks.
In opposition to the "TETRA" technology, which expresses its full
implementation in geographically limited areas with a high number of users, the
DMR system allows coverage of geographically expanded areas by doubling the
number of simultaneous conversations per channel and allowing a "native"
digital data broadcasting.
Radio Activity has created a "stand alone" repeater which can automatically
manage the analogical and digital communications.
Radio Activity is ongoing testing and certification of the new modular
equipments for the establishment of simulcast DMR networks, with FDMA and
TDMA technology, both VHF (also 70 MHz) and UHF, largely configurable for
star networks with links between the stations via wire (multiplex), via radio
(UHF link) and via LAN (Ethernet).
All the networks made by our company are equipped with a powerful remote
control SW that enables full remote management of all the parameters of the
system and of the single station and carrying out procedures for self-test and
self-calibration of radio modules.
All modules forming a station can be replaced without any instrumentation as
totally self adaptive and able to assume every set of calibrations of the old
replaced module.
���� Point-to-point audio/data Solutions
Radio Activity, in addition to mobile radio networks, offers a lot of solutions for
point-to-point or point-to-multipoint connection for audio or data narrowband
applications (remote telephone, data acquisition units, ...).
Radio stations RA-xxx are equipped with Digital Signal Processors (DSP) that
allow some functions normally not achievable with traditional analogical
equipment. In particular, the link made with these radio stations, although in
12.5 KHz channel bandwidth, guarantees a band of 300-3400 Hz with excellent
group delay, distortion and S/N ratio.
The link made by a pair of devices RA-450 allows connections at low cost, with
a high degree of service (99.99%) even where there is no direct vision.
Remote Telephony.
Using radio stations RA-xxx, you can obtain an extension of telephone lines in
remote locations over 100 km distant, even if not in direct sight.
The particular developed SW ensure an excellent audio performance to phone
inserting correction systems like the echo eraser.
Numerous hardware and software configurations allow the creation of systems
to fit all situations.
Low-speed data transmission.
Radio stations RA-xxx can be programmed to operate in data point-to-point or
point-to-multipoint mode using an integrated modem with GMSK modulation.
The modem can be managed by criteria or be fully transparent as required, the
transfer rate is certified for 4800 or 9600 bps with 12.5 KHz of channel
bandwidth.
The data transmission can coexist with a telephony service.
High-speed data transmission.
Radio stations RA-xxx, can be equipped with new external modem made by us;
the modem with IP model RA-MD1, allowing you to connect together two LAN
networks by using a 4-wire audio (leased line) connection with net speed up to
19.2 Kbps with 12.5 KHz channel bandwidth.
Thanks to the LINUX "core" with a DSP coprocessor, the modem provides
excellent performance even over noisy and distorted channels.
The modem is approved for use in “over the mains” communication network at
speeds up to 33.6 Kbps.
This solution is especially suited to management and supplying electricity
companies. With integrated ethernet interface, enables to minimize the number
of units to be installed and allowing to simplifying operations of system
activation and maintenance.
� Audio Management Systems
Radio Activity has developed a Digital Audio Matrix that can manage up to 60
lines 2/4W + E&M for line/radio or telephone/radio connections.
The device works connected with a host PC for configurations setting.
There are many coding/decoding protocols to achieve audio management,
address, PABX interface to radio, networks interconnection systems.
The matrices are designed using the latest technologies and applications in the
field of Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
These devices are fully programmable and easily configurable both hardware
and software, thus providing excellent solutions for all needs of radio
communications in order to realize Operative Centres that manage complex
networks of tens of base stations.
All DSP modules have a connection bus that allows flexible composition of the
various blocks of the system to create "infinite solutions."
