Who Cares if a Sinner Goes to Hell?

Luke 16:19-31

Galatians 1:10

"For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.“

Who cares if a Sinner goes to Hell?

I. God The Father Cares!

A. The Father cares, for He sent His Only Begotten Son.

John 3:16-17; For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

B. The One, who cares for the falling sparrow, cares about saving souls out of hell! (Matt. 6:26)

Are you not of more value than they?

- Jehovah-ji-reh – The LORD-Will-Provide (Gen. 22:14)

- Romans 5:8-9; But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

II. Jesus the Son Cares! A. He came; “To seek and to save that which was lost.”

Luke 19:10; For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

B. Look at Jesus reaching out to sinners we see, He cares!

Luke 15:2; And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.

Luke 23:39-43; 42Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” 43And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

II. Jesus the Son Cares! C. Hear Him, as he sent out His disciples into the world.

Matt. 28:18-20; And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

He cares if a sinner goes to Hell or not!

III. The Holy Spirit Cares! A. The Holy Spirit came on Pentecost so sinners would be saved.

B. The Holy Spirit is the Lord of the Harvest.

"No one can come to Me unless the Father draws them."

Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Who cares?

IV. Heaven Cares! A. There is joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents.

- Luke 15:10; Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

B. We make Heaven glad when we lead people to Christ.

- Matt. 18:11-13; For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.

V. Hell Cares! A. Compare the rich man and Lazarus in life.

Luke 16: 19-21; “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.

- 20But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

B. Compare them in death.

Luke 16:22-23; so it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom.

- The rich man also died and was buried. 23And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

V. Hell Cares! C. The Cry from Hell – ‘Send Lazarus to my home!’

V. 27; ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house…

D. Five minutes in hell would make evangelist out of all of us!

Do we care that sinners are going to Hell?

The Father God cares!

God the Son cares and died!

God the Holy Spirit is crying out!

Heaven is calling out come today!

And even Hell is crying out!

But, Do YOU care?
