Mulching of residential landscape waste was discontinued in Monroe County several years ago due to limited de-mand, disease and contamination concerns. Check with you local service provider (see other side of brochure for phone numbers) to find out whether yard waste is still being separated in your neighborhood. If you would like to start your own food/yard waste composting project at home, contact Extension Agent Kim Gabel at: (305) 292-4501 or visit the website http://compostinfo.com/

Many local landscape companies also have free mulch available on a limited, by request basis. Mulch may contain invasive/exotic seeds.

Some products require special disposal because they can pollute the earth, air, water and YOU.

HHW and e-Waste Disposal / recycling is FREE FOR RESIDENTS - some limits and fees may apply

Business waste is accepted for a fee.

Call the Monroe County Recycling Coordinator or your nearest Transfer Station/Recycling Center for additional information or visit the Monroe County website for special Saturday collection dates.
