Who would be the audience for your

media product? By Glyn Paewai

Our film is mainly aimed at people between the ages of 15-40, this is because the film is based on drugs and crime. This means it’s not aimed at anyone under the age of 15 which is why most gritty realism films have an age rating of 15.

We think that the age 15 – 40 is a suitable age group because these are the type of people who have lived through the times where young people have got involved with drugs and crime and most of them will be able to see how these things can effect life in the cities and towns across Britain. Our film doesn’t show how if it exactly things happen but it does show what could happen and what people our age can get themselves into.

The film can relate to people in grade E and D of the socio-economic class. This is because people who are of the lowest class and live on benefits sometimes tend to live in areas where crime and drugs happen.

The film focuses on reformers, people who are into a realistic approach in the film and people that know about real issues in films. It also looks at succeeders who are willing to watch a variety of films.

Our film can be for male and females because it is not based around a certain gender it is just everyday life so both genders can relate to the film. Because our clips going to be real life and not like blockbuster films our film clip is going to have high levels of verisimilitude.

I believe that the film may relate to males a bit more because of the gangs and crime is much more of a masculine thing to do so we have used more men in our film. This doesn’t mean our film is not relatable for women.

You can see in this clip of our film that all of our

characters are male.

The reason our audiences are not mainstreamers is because they are a gritty realism has a very different approach when making a film. Mainstreamers like to watch things which they know are going to be good and always have a very simple and easy storyline to follow.

Our audiences like to watch this type of film because they can either relate or they just enjoy watching film which shows the real side of life and society. Our audience is very niche as they are a very small group of people which like to watch a film that shows a very real side of things. This is why our audiences are not mainstreamers
