Who Am I?

Who am I? Well, I am a wife. My maiden name was Jennifer Renaldo. Like a true modern age story, I met my husband online…the famous Myspace.com. He commented that we attended the same very large church and after a few weeks of conversation, I agreed to go to dinner. We met June 6, 2007 and he proposed February 14, 2008 – 8 months later. We finally wed June 12, 2009 at Glendalough Manor in a beautiful outdoor ceremony with approx. 100 attendees. He is everything I have always prayed for in a husband and I am incredibly blessed and grateful.

Who am I? I am a mother. This fact means a lot to me

because in 2006, I was diagnosed with PCOS,

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, the leading cause of infertility in

women. Soon after that diagnosis, I had a dream of

a little boy who told me that he was my son and promised he would come back to me in real life. I

asked his name, and he said Jonathan. I woke up crying and looked up the name Jonathan…it meant Gift from God. A month after marrying my husband, I

became pregnant. I knew it was my little boy coming

back, just as he promised. We named him Jonathan.

Who am I? I am a RN student. This is a second career for me. Since graduating from Georgia State University and working as a Physician and Nurse Recruiter for 8 years, I decided to follow my dream of becoming a healthcare professional. I always had a love for medical science and helping others. After being laid off during my pregnancy, I knew it was my time. Its been extremely difficult. In a program that they tell you it is not advised to work, I work full time as well as balance home life. But to do what I love, its beyond worth it.

Who am I? I am Class President for the RN Class of 2013. I am also a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society, and a recipient of two scholarships. Did I mention I work full time and have a two year old? Who am I? I am clearly an overachiever…

Who am I? Actually, this should read: who do I want to be?! Being a RN is just the beginning to my dreams! My primary focus is graduating and securing a position in the ICU. After 1-2 years experience in the ICU, I will then apply to CRNA schools. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who has acquired graduate-level education and board certification in anesthesia. The program is 24-36 months and year round. After achieving that goal, I hope to obtain my ND, or Nursing Doctorate.

Who am I? Well I am the American story. I am first generation American, being born in New York. Both of my parents are from Guyana, South America. Many people know this country as the country Jim Jones had over 900 people drink poisoned Kool-Aid, but my grandmother liked to say to remember that Jim Jones was American. My parents divorced when I was 6 years old and at age 8, my mother moved my sister and I to Georgia. I like to say I am New York born, but GA bred.

Who am I? I am a big sister. My younger sister’s name is Christina and while we look alike, we are quite different. My sister has always been a little firecracker. While she married very early and had two kids by 21, I went the slow and steady route. Regardless, she is one of my very best friends. I love her with all of my heart. We have endured a lot over the years and she means the world to me.

Who am I ? Before I became a mother, I was an Auntie. I never knew how important that role would be, but it literally changed my life. I love them as though they are my own and I often joke that they are my babies that came out of my sister’s uterus. My sister just gave birth to her number 3 on March 19th. So now we have Briana Christine age 7, Anthony Brandon age 6, and Brielle Elise age 2 weeks . My favorite thing to do as an Auntie is take them to get whatever candy and goodies they want right before I take them home to their Mom and Dad!

Who am I? I am a fulltime Wife, Mom, and RN Student. Random facts: My favorite wine is sauvignon blanc. I recently lost 30 lbs. on Weight Watchers. I love running Muddy 5K runs. I love Tiramisu. I could eat cereal for any three meals of the day and have. I have two dogs, a German Shepherd and a Chihuahua. I attend 12 Stone church and I have a desire to strengthen my relationship with God. I hope to have another child one day soon but if that doesn’t happen, I'm incredibly grateful for my one. He is brilliant, handsome, and so happy. Who am I? I. AM. BLESSED.
