Whole School Self-Portraits In the final weeks of Term 1 the students participated in the PBL celebration 'Art Session'. In this session the students created a self-portrait in a certain colour, that was then joined together to make a rainbow of faces of all the people in the school. The whole school art is on display in the hall and has certainly added a splash of colour! Thank you to all the teachers and students who created wonderful pictures and to the staff who helped create the masterpiece. We look forward to you seeing it in person during assembly and other whole school events. Thanks Mrs O'Brien From the Principal…..
Earlier in the year we trialled the introduction of Connect Meets, in which students, parents/carers and teachers met together to discuss the learning goals for each student for the year ahead. We were overwhelmed by the positive response to these meetings with more than 80% of our students’ having at least one parent or carer participating. It is most rewarding to see staff putting into place the learning opportunities identified by students and the students making the most of these opportunities.
Towards the end of this term, we will be conducting Re-Connect Meets. These follow a similar format to the Connect Meets with parents/carers, students and staff re-visiting their goals and tracking their progress using the Half-Yearly Reports as a guide.
Reports will be sent home early in week 9 with Re-Connects to take place during weeks 9 and 10. We would love to have everyone represented!
Have a great week! Steve McAlister Principal

PBL News
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, teacher swap and free time have reached their goal of 1000 Dinawans. Free time will be celebrated in classrooms when it is convenient to the teacher. All students will have the opportunity to be taught by their buddy class teacher sometime during the next week. Both staff and students are looking forward to this wonderful opportunity.
Book Club
Issue 3 of Book Club was handed out last week. There are lots of super savings to be made this issue, especially on boxed sets. As usual don’t forget to look out for the $2 books, what a bargain! Please return orders by Friday 18th May (end of Week 3).
