How did this dictator come to power?

Election: he was elected by the people

He was the leader of the Nazi party, whichbecame more and more popular throughthe 1930s. Eventually, in the 1932elections, the Nazi party became thebiggest party in the German governmentand Hitler became the Chancellor ofGermany. He signed a document calledthe Enabling Act which gave himauthoritarian powers to control Germany.

Ms Chang: Adolf HitlerWhat happened to the people of his country underhis rule?1. He persecuted Jews in what is called the Holocaust. 6

million Jews and other minority groups were killed inconcentration camps.

2. He led Germany into World War 2 as a result ofinvading Poland.
