The Panorama experimentent

ConclusionWe believe the Wi-Fi radiation level is significant for children, even though it is 600 times below the level the government thinks is safe. Children's skulls are thinner than those of adults, and still forming. Tests show they absorb more radiation from mobile phones than adults do.

ResultsThe graphs show that the maximum level of the Wi-Fi radiation from the laptop was about three times as high as from the mobile phone mast.

MethodWe investigated the levels of Wi-Fi radiation in an average-size comprehensive school in Norwich. Like 70% of secondary schools, they have a Wi-Fi network in many of the classrooms. We used a radiation detector to measure the level close to a laptop. The readings were taken when pupils were connected to the Wi-Fi network, downloading a file from the internet. We then compared this to the level of radiation measured 100m from a mobile phone mast. This is about the distance a pupil might befrom the nearestmast.
