Wikis
You probably have heard of the term wiki...
...but do you know what a wiki is ??
Wikis
Here is probably the most well-known wiki.
Wikis
Wikis
In Hawaiian, wiki wiki means “quick”.
Wikis
A wiki is a webpage (or a collection of webpages) that can be edited collaboratively by anyone with access.
Wikis are primarily used by groups to quickly edit shared text, including links, images and other data.
Wikis
The key point is that anyone can edit a wiki - depending on the structure of it.
The structure means whether it is open to the public – totally – or, if you have to register/signup before you can edit.

Why use them in the classroom ?
Wikis allow students to collaboratively construct websites as part of class content.
Text, images, links and multimedia can all be incorporated into the wiki.
Wikis
Why use them in the classroom ?
Students can work together on a website for your class from separate locations, 24 hours/day.
Wikis
Why use them in the classroom ?
With wikis, making edits is relatively easy. Authors utilize a text editor similar to most word processors.
A 'history' function keeps track of all edits.
