As this school year comes to an end, it of course is bittersweet. We will miss each of our students and our joyful times together. Teaching little ones lets an adult see as a child – to remember how much every little thing mattered; how much everything still matters.

It's time to say, "Good-bye."This year has come to an end. We’ve made more cherished memories And many more new friends. We’ve watched the children learn and growAnd change from day to day.We hope that all the things we've doneHave helped in some small way.So it's with happy memoriesThat we send them out the door, With great hope and expectationsFor what next year holds in store.

Time to say Good-Bye

Summer Professional Development Requirements

All PISD employees are to complete annual trainings to be compliant with local, state and federal guidelines. All employees who work a 187 day contract are required to complete 6 hours of staff development to be used later as a comp day. Use of the comp day will be fulfilled by not being required to report to work on August 14, 2105. Depending on the exact certification, a teacher or administrator that has a provisional certificate is required by the state to complete 150 to 200 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours. It is not the responsibility of PISD to maintain staff development records for individuals. Please refer to TEA for additional information regarding your certification if needed.

Participant Expectations

• Be punctual (sessions, breaks, lunch, small group work) • Be fully engaged and participate actively • Be considerate of other participants and silence your personal technology • Be a representative of your campus with the highest form of professionalism • Be responsible for your impact on the room • Be respectful of other’s opinions • Build on other’s ideas • Be willing to share your knowledge with others • Be aware of the limitations of space for each training site and limit the amount of extra material

you bring with you. • Casual professional dress is expected

Attendance Guidelines

• Courses begin at 9:00 AM each day and end at 4:00 PM unless noted in course detail information. • Participants are expected to arrive on time and remain until the session ends. • Remember to sign in at each session. Signatures are required in the morning and afternoon to

validate attendance. Failure to provide your signature on the official sign in document will forfeit the attendance credit.

• Lunch is on your own. • Professional development provided by the district often has a limited number of seats for

participants. Once registered for one of these sessions, attendance is expected. If a staff member becomes unable to attend the training it is important to unregister. Absence without unregistering may result in the registrant being locked out of Eduphoria.

• Respect the time and learning needs of other attendees by securing the appropriate child care, if applicable. While we all love children, they can be a distraction for the attendees and presenters.
