WILDFIRES IN AUSTRALIA 2019-2020

Scenes reminiscent of the "apocalypse" settled over much of Australia, as brushfires

forced thousands to flee to beaches, and fires burned down whole towns.

Fires broke out in all seven states of Australia. More than 2500 homes have been

destroyed by the fires. It was confirmed that the total area burned in bushfires across Australia since spring, is 5 million hectares. The savage bushfires were unprecedented.

This month, February, some fires are still burning.

AUSTRALIAN BUSH FIRES COULD BECOME A "MEGA BLAZE"

At the end of 2019, 200 fires raged across the states of New South Wales and Victoria, as

December 31st recorded the hottest decade in our country's history. 33 people have

died since the season began.

Australian brushfires have burned over 12 million acres in New South Wales, Victoria,

and South Australia, an area ¾ the size of Tasmania. Officials suggested that several

infernos may metastasize into a “mega blaze.”

Fires in the town of Mallacoota in Victoria, 310 miles east of Melbourne killed 7 people and displaced over 5,000, terrified residents with alternating pitch-black and blood-red

skies in the daytime.

As about 150 fires continued to burn in Victoria and NSW officials warned they would be unable to control the blazes before conditions worsen. Whole rows of shops have been wiped out.

“We have no capacity to contain these fires … the fires are going to do what they are

going to do, and people have to get out of that area,” the NSW Rural Fire Service deputy commissioner said.

MY COUNTRY

Dorothea Mackellar was well known in Australia because of her famous poem about a

Sunburnt Counrty. She was born in Sydney in 1885, and was educated at the University

of Sydney. At 19 years old she wrote the poem, 'My Country', the second verse of which is perhaps the best known stanza in Australian poetry. It begins like this …

I love a sunburnt country, a land of

sweeping plains, of ragged mountain ranges,

of droughts and flooding rains.

I love her far horizons, I love her jewel-sea,

Her beauty and her terror -

the wide brown land for me!

Of course, Mackellar’s sunburnt country was a scorched earth. Today more than ever,

Australia is a burnt-out country. Why has this happened? Why has God allowed it?

Many simply say, “it’s because of climate change.”

I believe this is a warning from Almighty God because of the nation turning against

God’s laws. And I believe it is a warning, and a foretaste of what is coming on the

world in the end times – the near future. He has warned in Malachi 4:1-2:

"Look! The day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze, says YHWH

of Hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch." “But for you who

revere My Name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings;

and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.”

This is referring to the return of the Messiah to restore and to reign in righteousness.

ALSO KILLED IN THE FIRES

The scale of the destruction left by the Cudlee Creek fires in the Adelaide Hills

has come into greater focus as the tally for the number of livestock killed in the

blaze was released.

The number of animals killed in the blaze was in the tens of thousands.

This includes 2,635 sheep, 139 cattle, 15 chicken and

a multitude of wild life, such as the largely

defenceless koalas. Yes, Australia has always had bushfires: but 2019 is not like anything we've seen

before. Record low rainfall has contributed to a continent-scale emergency that

has burned through more than 5 million hectares and has alarmed scientists,

doctors and firefighters

RAIN AT LAST. In mid-January heavy rain fell in southern Queensland which

flooded some areas. In NSW, less rain brought some relief. But the East Victoria

fires were set to continue for a long time. The capital, Canberra, was hit by severe

hail storms, creating millions of dollars’ worth of damage.

God is sending warning after warning around the world, about the coming

Tribulation judgment.

“Why are the nations in an uproar, and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers take counsel together against

YHWH and against His Anointed - His Messiah: ‘Let us break Their chains,' they say, 'and throw off Their cords from us!' “He who is seated in the heavens laughs.

few days ago an horrific earthquake swarm hit PUERTO RICO.

AROUND THE WORLD

So far, more than 1,000 earthquakes have rattled Puerto Rico, and it was just hit by

another very large earthquake.

But right now volcanic eruptions have taken centre stage. In particular, a massive

eruption in the PHILIPPINES is making headlines all over the world, but what most people don’t realize is that several other volcanoes have also blown their tops in

spectacular fashion within the past week.

Suddenly, volcanoes all over the globe are shooting giant clouds of ash miles into the

air, and this is greatly puzzling many of the experts. Let’s review what we have

witnessed over the past 7 days.

On Sunday, Taal volcano roared to life, and it is being reported that the eruption sent “steam, ash and pebbles up to 15 kilometres (9 miles) into the sky.”

According to USA Today, ash has already reached Manila, and “red-hot lava” has

started gushing out of the volcano forcing villagers to flee.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage from Taal volcano’s eruption south of the capital that began Sunday. But clouds of ash blew more than 100

kilometres (62 miles) north, reaching the bustling capital, Manila, and forcing the

shutdown of the country’s main airport with more than 240 international and domestic flights cancelled, so far.

Unfortunately, authorities are warning that the worst may still be yet to come. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology increased its threat level for Taal

Volcano to four out of five, saying that a “hazardous explosive eruption” could happen

at any minute.

On Tuesday, one of the most important volcanoes in ALASKA shot hot ash 25,000 feet into the air.

Shishaldin Volcano erupted at 5 a.m., the Alaska Volcano Observatory announced, and sent up an initial ash cloud to 19,000 feet. Clouds initially obscured the mountain, but

satellite imagery confirmed the ash cloud, the U.S. Geological Survey geophysicist said.

Seismic shaking diminished for a few hours, but it then increased again. During the increase, the volcano spewed an ash cloud to 25,000 feet, the observatory announced. The later eruption increased the volume of ash.

There are 5,280 feet in a mile, and so we are talking about an ash cloud nearly 5 miles

high.

On Thursday, Mt. Popocatepetl in MEXICO shot hot ash nearly 4 miles into the sky … Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano burst to life in a spectacular gush of lava and clouds of

ash that hurled very bright rock about 20,000 feet into the sky.

The dramatic explosion of the active strato-volcano, a little over 40 miles southeast of

Mexico City, was captured on video by Mexico’s National Centre for Disaster Prevention.

It has the potential to create the worst natural disaster in the modern history of North America, because it is quite close to Mexico City. The following summary shows the

potential threat that Mt. Popocatepetl poses …

Approximately 26 million people live within 60 miles of Popocatepetl’s crater, and so we

are talking about the potential for death and destruction on a scale that is difficult to imagine.

In ancient times, Mt. Popocatepetl buried entire Aztec cities in super-heated mud, but

then it went to sleep for about 1,000 years. Unfortunately for us, it started waking up

again in the 1990’s, and now this is the most active that we have seen it ever since the volcano originally re-awakened.

Meanwhile, down in South America the Sabancaya volcano in PERU just shot a plume of volcanic ash approximately 24,000 feet into the air…

Explosive activity continues. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre Buenos Aires warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 24,000 ft altitude. But hardly

anyone is paying any attention to what just took place in Peru because of what just

happened in the Philippines.

We continue to see unusual earthquake activity in many parts of the globe.

After already experiencing more than 1,000 earthquakes since the beginning of 2020,

PUERTO RICO was hit by a magnitude 5.9 quake on Saturday causing further damage along the island’s southern coast, where previous recent quakes have toppled homes and

schools.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the 8:54 a.m. quake hit 8 miles (13 km) southeast of Guanica at a shallow depth of 3 miles (5 km).

Many scientists are now warning that our planet is becoming increasingly unstable and

that the shaking is only going to get worse.

After the events of the last few days, perhaps a few more people will start to understand what is going on. There have always been earthquakes and vol-canic eruptions, but for

most of our lives we have been able to assume that our planet is generally stable.

Unfortunately, that is no longer a safe assumption. We have entered a period of time

when all of the old assumptions will no longer apply, and everything that can be shaken

will be shaken.

Almost a quarter of the world’s countries witnessed a surge in protest and unrest last year and that figure is set to rise further in 2020, according to a new study.

On top of all this, we now have the CORONA VIRIS spreading from Wuhan, China.

THE DAY OF RECKONING IS NEAR

spread across thousands of hectares in 40 districts of the region.

They are now infesting several neighbouring countries as well.

INDONESIA: WORST FLOODING SINCE 2007

JAN. 4, 2020. Monsoon rains and rising rivers have left 47 people dead in Indonesia's

capital, as rescuers find more bodies amid receding floodwaters.

The rising rivers submerged a dozen districts in greater Jakarta and caused landslides in

the Bogor and Depok districts on the city's outskirts as well as in neighbouring Lebak,

which buried a dozen people.

The fatalities included those who had drowned or been electrocuted since rivers broke

their banks early after extreme torrential rains throughout New Year's Eve. Some elderly

people died of hypothermia.

It was the worst flooding since 2007, when 80 people were killed by monsoon rains over 10 days. At the peak of the flooding, about 397,000 people sought refuge in shelters across the greater metropolitan area as floodwaters reached up to 6 metres in some places. Some 173,000 people were still unable to return home, mostly in the hardest-hit area of Bekasi.

U S TO JOIN “ONE TRILLION TREES INITIATIVE”

JAN. 21. The United States is joining the One Trillion Trees Initiative, President Donald

Trump said on Jan. 21. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump said the United States is joining the initiative.

The One Trillion Trees Initiative was announced during the forum. It encourages countries to plant trees as part of the effort to combat climate change. The goal is to plant

1 trillion trees by 2050.

Good goal, but it may already be too late!

NEW LASER BEAM SYSTEM CAN TAKE DOWN DRONES, BURNING BALOONS

DEC 26, 2019. Israeli security forces have unveiled a new laser-beam system designed to take down incendiary (fiery) aerial devices that have burned countless acres of land over the past two years as well as drones infiltrating into Israeli airspace.

The system, dubbed Light Blade, was developed by engineers in the private sector along

with researchers from Ben Gurion University and technological departments belonging to the Israel Police and IDF.

According to a report on Channel 12, the portable system, Light Blade has been designed

to deal with threats as far away as two kilometers, both along the northern borders as

well as the Gaza Strip. -

A RUSSIAN WEAPON THAT CAN TRAVEL

27 TIMES THE SPEED OF SOUND

DEC. 29. MOSCOW. A new intercontinental weapon that can fly 27 times the speed of

sound has become operational, Russia’s defence minister reported to President Vladimir

Putin, bolstering the country’s nuclear strike capability.

Putin has described the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle as a technological

breakthrough comparable to the 1957 Soviet launch of the first satellite.

The new Russian weapon, and a similar system being developed by China, has troubled the United States which has pondered defence strategies.

The Avangard is launched atop an intercontinental ballistic missile, but unlike a regular

missile warhead that follows a predictable path after separation, it can make sharp manoeuvers in the atmosphere on route to target, making it much harder to intercept.

Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu informed Putin that the first missile unit equipped with

the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle has entered combat duty.

“I congratulate you on this landmark event for the military and the entire nation,”

Shoigu said later during a conference call with top military leaders.

RUSSIAN EVANGELICALS PENALIZED

UNDER ANTI-EVANGELISM LAW

Following Russia’s ban on Jehovah Witnesses, evangelical Protestants have become the most-punished group under the country’s controversial “anti-missionary laws.”

More than half of all cases of alleged violations last year were against evangelicals. Of

the 159 individuals and organizations prosecuted for demonstrating their faith in public, 50 were Pentecostals and 39 were Baptists, according to analysis by “Forum 18,” a news

service covering religious freedom issues in Russia and surrounding countries.

“Believers are afraid to carry the Word of God to the masses, because they fear fines,”

Pentecostal Union lawyer Vladimir Ozolin told Forum 18. “As ever, law enforcement

agencies assume that any church activity is missionary activity, which is not true.”

Recently Vladimir Putin signed an anti-terrorism law, but for the country's many churches, the signature sparked a demand for prayer and fasting.

The bill toughens punishment for acts deemed to be terrorism and for the organization of "mass unrest," according to the Los Angeles Times. It would also introduce prison

sentences of up to a year for those who fail to report such crimes.

News the law entails: Foreign guests are not permitted to speak in churches unless they

have a "work permit" from Russian authorities.

If a friend or relative from outside Russia wishes to share his/her faith in your home, the guest will be fined and expelled from Russia.

# Any discussion of God with non-believers is considered missionary activity and will be

punishable.

# Missionary activity will be permitted by special government permission. Example: If

one is traveling on a train shares his faith without written permission the offender will be taken into police custody for the duration of the journey and will be fined 50,000 rubbles

($1,000).

# Offenders from the age of 14-years-old will be subject to prosecution.

# Religious activity is no longer permitted in private homes. Most churches in Russia meet in homes.

# Every citizen is obligated to report religious activity of neighbours to the authorities.

Failure to be an informant is punishable by law.

# One may pray and read the Bible at home but not in the presence of a non-believing

person. You will be breaking the law and be punished.

# If the church has purchased property, it cannot be converted into a place of worship.

# In church buildings, it is not permitted to invite people to turn to God. Worship services are permitted but making a non- believer a follower of Christ is against the law.

In response, thousands of churches across the country have come together to cry out to

God. "The church is appalled at the news of the new law. About 7,000 evangelical/protestant churches are in fasting and prayer at the moment over the news,"

U.S. TROOPS PREVENT RUSSIAN FORCES FROM CAPTURING SYRIAN OIL FIELD

JAN 21. U.S. troops last weekend reportedly found themselves in a standoff with Russian

forces trying to gain access to key oil fields in north-eastern Syria.

The Saturday standoff — first reported by Turkish media outlets, citing unnamed local officials in the Turkey-Syria border region — seems to have ended without any shots

being fired or any real risk of violence between the two sides. American military personnel reportedly stopped a Russian convoy near the town of Rmelan, and the

Russian forces then apparently turned back and returned to their home base.

The statement refers to A Children’s Book of Demons, a book targeting children aged 5-10

by Aaron Leighton, an illustrator and “fan” of occult practices.

The book invites children to summon demons as a way of dealing with unpleasant

problems such as chores, homework, and getting rid of bullies. “Summoning demons has

never been so fun!” it proposes.

The book, published by Koyama Press, presents a number of demons, each accompanied by the official insignia of the Church of Satan, and is trademarked and copyrighted by the Church of Satan.

George Carey, is suing the British Home Office, claiming that Britain is complicit in this discrimination.

Let’s intercede on behalf of the many believers presently facing danger in war-torn areas

of the Middle East, asking God to grant them divine protection and strength. Praise Him for the blessing of salvation that many have received despite the terrible situations in which they find themselves.

KENYA: CHRISTIAN TEACHERS KILLED

Three Christian teachers were killed when suspected Al-Shabab terrorists attacked the town of Kamuthe in eastern Kenya during the early morning of January 13th. The

teachers of a residential school were asleep in their staff housing when their room was raided.

According to a surviving teacher who fled out the window, the local Somali Muslim teachers were separated from the non-locals, whom they presumed were Christians. One

of the attackers reportedly said, "We cannot allow infidels to teach our children," and then the three Christian men were shot to death.

According to some reports, the attackers specifically left female staff alone. The names of

the three slain men were not initially released for fear of retribution, but all of them had attended a local church since coming to the area at the beginning of the school year. One

man was injured in the attack and another teacher, a Muslim, was kidnapped.

As part of the raid, the militants also burned a local police port and seriously damaged a telecommunications mast in the town. Following the incident, all non-local teachers

have been withdrawn from the area and the school has been closed.

Almost 100 schools along the border with Somalia are presently operating with just a headmaster and no teacher because of the imminent danger. Since the beginning of

December, violence has escalated, particularly against those who are not easily identified as Somali Muslims.

Please lift up the families, friends and co-workers of slain believers in your prayers.

Also remember the students of this school, and others located along the border, who are facing fear and uncertainty -- including the children who are not able to receive the education they need because of the ongoing violence.

May the terrorists responsible for this most recent attack be held accountable for their actions.

Pray that Kenya's governing authorities will be able to 'stem the flow' of militants entering into the country with the intent of attacking innocent civilians.

BURKINA FASO, A HOTBED OF ISLAMIST ATTACKS ON CHRISTIANITY

Islamic radicals have killed 250 mostly Christian people in Burkina Faso since last April, a new report by Human Rights Watch gathered.

The pastor of a house church in China's Hubei province, along with two other women

from the church, are facing charges of fraud because they collected offering money for their church. Officials claim that the church is illegal and its pastor does not have a legal

ordination; therefore, they allege the money was collected fraudulently. The pastor, Hao Zhiwei, could face more than 10 years in prison if convicted.

The church is located in the city of Ezhou and has been ministering to the people of the

community for 18 years. They were recently meeting in the same building as one of the official Three-Self Churches. Pastor Hao's husband died of cancer in 2018, and she has since been raising their two children on her own.

Christians who have fled war-ravaged areas of Syria are facing continued persecution while trying to seek refuge in camps set up in Jordan, Lebanon and elsewhere. A

substantial number of them are being blocked by United Nations officials when attempting to enter the camps because the majority of UN officials working in these

countries are Muslims.

Subsequently, many of the rejected refugees are being forced to live in hiding elsewhere,

risking the danger of deportation and/or possible death.

A HEARTFELT WORD TO ALL OUR READERS . . .

Yes, Y’shua/Jesus, these days, is revealing Himself to many souls - to Middle Easteners, Iranians, Chinese, Indians, Africans, South Americans.

Now let me check with every one of my readers:

Do you know Jesus as your personal Saviour? I trust you do! And if you are saved, you will know it, for you will remember the day you deliberately expressed your faith in

Him, and asked Him to save you; and you received Him, there and then, as your Saviour and Master. A lifetime decision.

Now let me make this fact clear to any readers who would like to be saved, but they are

afraid they will not “make the grade.” You will not be saved by the good things that

you do, or by your own righteousness; that is, by your degree of personal goodness. God’s Word says:

“All our righteous deeds are like filthy rags; all of us shrivel up like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, sweep us away.” (Isaiah 64:6)

Every one of us already stands condemned because of our sin, that is, because of our

evil-doings.

But God wants to save us from the penalty - the “wages of sin” which is eternal death -- Hell.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in the

Messiah, Y'shua our Master.” (Romans 6:23)

But how can God remove the “death penalty” that we deserve? If we are guilty and are under the penalty that He has decreed, how can He save us and give us the gift of eternal life?

Good question! This is a most amazing truth! And it explains why Y’shua/Jesus, the

Son of God, suffered brutally, and was put to death on the cross. We read in John chapter 3.

“Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, the Son of Man must be lifted up,

so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

"For YHWH, the Almighty God so greatly loved the world, that He gave His only

begotten, His one-and-only, uniquely born, eternal Son, so that whoever believes in

Him, should not perish, but have eternal (everlasting) life. For God did not send the

Son into the world to judge and condemn the world; but so that the world might be

saved through Him.” (John 3:14-17)

So that explains it: The death of Jesus/Y’shua, paid the penalty for the sins of the

whole world. He became our substitute. He died instead of us.

Now let me give you a simple story to illustrate how substitution works.

Here is a man called Smartie. His early life was good, but in his adult years he got into deep trouble. He thought he could become a millionaire, so he delved into crime –

smuggling big amounts of drugs into the country. But he was caught and brought before a court to face a trial, and was found guilty. The judge sentenced him to pay 5 million

dollars, or 25 years in prison, if he could not pay the penalty.

And of course he could not pay such a huge fine. So he was thrown into prison, to begin a long, miser- able imprisonment. He was guilty and now destitute.

But there was another man named Godfrey, who heard of Smartie’s predicament. He was a good man who believed in resuscitating young criminals rather than locking them up for ever. He was a rich man, and when he heard about the plight of Smartie, Mr

Godfrey felt pity for him, and he had a strong desire to save him. So he went to the court and spoke to the judge about his burden for Smartie.

The judge replied, but the law is law. And the penalty must be paid. If he can pay the 5 million dollars, he can be freed.

Godfrey replied. “I am willing to pay the penalty on behalf of Smartie.”

The judge said: “Are you mad? Do you want to release a criminal out onto the street to continue his evil ways?”

“No no!” Godfrey replied. “But I will take him under my wing and make him into a new person. I can do it. I have done it in many such cases. I will take him into my

home and resuscitate him. I will pay his fine right now.” And he took out his check book and made out a cheque for 5 million.

The judge sighed and said, “OK. But if this cheque bounces you will be in prison.”

The judge wrote out a release order and said, “Here it is. Take this, with this jail officer,

and go to the prison, and get him out – and if you can, make him a new person.”

So Godfrey went with the officer to the jail. And he said, “Smartie, I have good news for you. The judge has given a release order for you.”

“How come?” Smartie asked. There is a 5 million dollar penalty on my head.”

“Yes, true, but I have paid the penalty for you. And I want to take you to my home and help you become a new person. So come on with me.”

Smartie should have been overjoyed, but he wasn’t. “What type of joke or scheme is this?” he replied. Godfrey tried to reason with him, offering him a new life. But Smartie could not believe this was for real. “No Mr Godfrey, I don’t believe your words. Leave

me alone. I have done the crime and I will pay my own 25 year penalty.”

Godfrey could not convince him, so he left, and reported to the judge, and got his cheque back.

Smartie was not smart enough! He simply could not believe and receive the release

order.

Now in real life, Jesus the Saviour paid our death penalty on the cross – yes, for all of us. And He can save millions of people, because He is eternal — He had no beginning and

no end. And many of us have believed and have been saved from our sins, through believing and receiving His gracious provision for our salvation. We have received a new

life in Jesus Christ, the Saviour who paid our penalty and set us free.

But there are many others – millions – who refuse the salvation that Jesus offers them. And like Smartie, they remain in bondage to their sins and penalty, because they will not

believe the promise, or receive the gift of eternal life available through faith in Christ.

So what side are you on, my reader? The side of the saved, or the side of the lost?

But you may be asking, “Is this really for real?”

I present to you the Word of the Almighty Heavenly Father who truly loves you greatly,

and who does not want you, or anyone, to perish.

“For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.” (Matthew 18:11)

“Once more I declare to you the Good News which I have already preached to you

- the Good News which you have received, and on which you take your stand; by

which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the words that I preached as Good News to you - unless you believed in vain.

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance, that the Messiah

died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He

was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to

Cephas, then to the twelve.” (1 Corinthians 15:1-5)

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe has been

condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only begotten,

the one-and-only eternal Son of God” - the only Saviour.

"He who believes (exercises faith) in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not believe in the

Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." (John 3:14-18, 36)

So dear reader, it is not a matter of how good you are, or how hard you try to make

yourself acceptable. It is a matter a believing what God has said, and personally receiving the salvation He offers to you freely.

If you do not know how to pray (to talk to God), here is a prayer that may help you to

express faith. You don’t have to make it complicated or use “high” language. Read through, and if you truly want to be saved, pray sincerely, like this, and thank God for

the gift He wants to make real to you right now.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION

“Heavenly Father, I come to You just as I am. Be merciful to me, a sinner. As I have

come to know that the Lord Jesus has already paid the penalty of my sins, I am now asking You to save me from my sins, and to make me Your true child.

“Lord Jesus, thank you for paying the penalty for my sins. I believe you are the eternal

Son of God, and You will be my living Saviour. So now I believe and trust in You, and I gladly receive Your free gift of eternal life right here and now. I commit my whole

future to You and ask You to take me under your wings, and make me a new person. Lead me in the days ahead and make me what You want me to be.

“Thank You, my Father; thank You, my Saviour. Praise Almighty God. Amen”
