Welcome to the Harriet K. Maxwell DesertWildflower Trail. Inspired by Birte Endicott, adevoted gardener and lover of desert wildflowers,this trail celebrates the beauty and diversity ofNorth American desert wildflowers.

In 1999 the Desert Botanical Garden received agenerous donation from the Harriet K. MaxwellFoundation. Harriet K. Maxwell, the aunt of formergarden trustee, Brad Endicott, was a devotednature enthusiast and supported many projectsthat reflected her passion for nature, beauty andthe protection of our environment.

Along the trail, visitors stroll through sixseparate gardens, each with a distinct collection ofwildflowers... the Boulder Garden...the SonoranDesert Garden...the Shade Garden...the BeeGarden...the Hummingbird Garden...and theButterfly Garden. Interactive and whimsicalexhibits share information about flowers and theirspecial relationship with pollinators.
