A reminder to parents to notify the school about your child’s health We welcome information from parents about your child's health, even if you are not requesting specific support from our school. Our school asks for medical information when you enrol your child. It is also important that you let us know if your child’s health care needs change or if a new health condition develops. Information about allergies, medical conditions such as asthma and diabetes, and other health care related issues (including prior conditions such as medical procedures in the last 12 months) should be provided to the school by parents. Please provide this information in writing to the Principal. This will greatly assist our school in planning to support your child’s health and wellbeing. Please also remember to notify staff in the school office of any changes to your contact details or to the contact details of other people nominated as emergency contacts. We appreciate your assistance in this regard and assure you that any information you provide the school will be stored securely and will only be used or disclosed in order to support your son or daughter’s health needs or as otherwise required by law. Non-prescribed medications In general, schools do not administer medication which has not been specifically requested by a medical practitioner for an individual student for a specific condition. In some cases the medical practitioner may not write a prescription for such medication because it may be available 'over the counter'. NSW Health advises that this does not mean that the medication is not potentially harmful and that schools should follow the same procedures for such medications as for 'prescribed medications'. 5 Step Hygiene Program In response to parent/carer concerns and to the fast approaching flu season, the school has introduced a 5 Step Hygiene program which will be implemented in every classroom. The school has purchased hand sanitiser and dispensers, Glen 20 and antibacterial wipes. If you have any concerns regarding your child using these products please contact the school immediately. Flu Season The flu season has arrived. A copy of the NSW Health fact sheet on Influenza has been sent home to provide important information regarding this highly contagious respiratory illness.

A big shout out to the Commonwealth Bank for their generous donation of $10,000 to our school. At our assembly on Monday morning students presented Commonwealth Bank staff with handmade gifts as a thank you for the donation.

NSW Health advises that this does not mean that the medication is not potentially harmful and that schools should follow the same procedures for such medications as for 'prescribed

medications'.

If you have any concerns regarding your child using these products please contact the school

immediately.

Late Arrivals and Early Departures

If your child arrives to school after 9:00am or

needs to leave before 3:00pm you need to sign

them in/out at the front office as per Department

of Education policy. Staff will then take your child

to or from class. Please do not go to the

classroom yourself.

Transport

Please remember to ring your transport provider if your child is not attending school on any

day. This is a requirement of the Department of Education.

Reminder A reminder to all students, parents/carers that at Willans Hill we have an important

safety rule to remember at school: ‘hands down’.

On Friday 15 June, Primary school students travelled on

the bus to the Museum of the Riverina as part of their

History unit. They explored objects from both the past and

present.
