SCIENCE ON THE MOVE Our K-1-2 class were invited to
Upper Macleay Pre School last
Tuesday to join in with Science on
the Move. The children watched
demonstrations and joined in
activities around floating and
sinking, magnets, gears and optical
illusion. Thanks UMPS for inviting
us. We had lots of fun!

From the Principal
Congratulations to our Year 3 and 5 students for their application to the
NAPLAN literacy, writing, reading and numeracy tests last week. Results of
the tests will be available in August.
The cooler weather has arrived and all of us would like to remind you to please
put names in jumpers so we can make sure they are returned if misplaced.
Another reminder as well to provide a note or let the school know if your child
is going to be away from school, or sick, as soon as you can. If your child is off
sick for longer than two days they will need a medical certificate as well. This
is a Department of Education requirement.
This week we have our school athletics carnival. Thank you to Mrs Scanlon
and Kerry for their organisation. It should be a wonderful day, especially if the
weather holds, and a good opportunity for all of our community to get involved
with the school celebrating our student’s achievements. If you can help with
events on the day it would be appreciated. Our P & C canteen will be operating
a BBQ on the day. Please sign and return the attached permission note.
My door is always open to parents. If you would like to discuss anything about
our school please feel free to drop in. I am always available on Thursday or
Friday unless I am called away and I am generally here from 7:30am until
4:30pm.
The White Cross Mobile Dental Care
will be at school to perform dental
examinations. The attached information
needs to be completed and returned to
school this week if you want your child
to take part in these examinations.
School photos are scheduled for
Wednesday 20th June. Children need to
be in full school uniform. Payment
envelopes will be sent home in the next
few weeks.
Regards, Stephen de Roos
