I. OVERVIEW AND BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION The focus of my research program is generation and implementation of knowledge that will influence a shift in the management of chronic musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, away from treatment (tertiary prevention) and towards preventing and/or delaying onset (primary and secondary prevention). This includes determining the origins of health and disease through a greater understanding of the period between youth musculoskeletal injury and chronic condition onset and optimizing musculoskeletal injury healthcare pathways. Ultimately the goal is to inform the development and evaluation of early diagnostics and secondary prevention interventions aimed at reducing the individual and societal burden of these conditions.
