ON DECK • The William and Mary baseball team is set for a three-game Colo- nial Athletic Association series with in-state rival James Madison at Plumeri Park. The series gets underway on Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m. Game two is set for Saturday, April 11 at 4 p.m., before the finale on Sunday, April 12 at 1 p.m. • The Tribe is looking to get back into the win column after dropping a mid-week game at Virginia on Wednesday. The Green and Gold did pick up a mid-week victory over Old Dominion on Tuesday, 11-9. • Following the weekend series, W&M hits the road for four-straight games. The road swing starts at VMI on Tuesday, April 21, before the Tribe travels to Delaware for a CAA weekend series starting on Friday, April 24. SERIES HISTORY • W&M and James Madison meet for 89th-91st time this weekend at Plumeri Park. The Dukes lead the all-time series 53-35, but the Tribe took a three-game weekend series in Harrisonburg last season. • Junior Ryan Hissey led the Tribe with 7-for-15 weekend at James Madison. He scored six runs, and drove in six, while hitting a home run. SCOUTING THE DUKES • James Madison enters the weekend series trying to snap five- game losing streak, but haven’t played since last Sunday. They enter the weekend with a 12-21 record and a 2-10 mark in CAA play. • Ky Parrott leads the Dukes with a .310 batting average, three doubles, and seven homers and 27 RBI. Parrott’s seven homers and 27 RBI lead the team. Brett Johnson has also had some power numbers with five home runs and 22 RBI. • On the mound, Eric Yankey leads JMU with a 3.81 ERA, he has 1-2 record with a save, tossing a 26 innings and 23 strikeouts. Colton Harlow leads the team with 14 appearances, while Michael Evans leads the team with four save. • Spanky McFarland is in his 18th season as JMU’s head coach. He has posted a 515-471-4 record in his tenure in Harrisonburg. GOING STREAKING • Junior Charley Gould has hit safely in 10-straight ball games. The streak is the second time this season a member of the Tribe has had a double-digit hitting streak. • Earlier this season freshman Cullen Large had a streak of 13 games. GOOD AS GOULD • Over the last nine games, junior Charley Gould has nearly been unstoppable. He has posted a .543 batting average with four doubles, five homers and 13 RBI. Gould has also hit safely in the last 10 games for the Green and Gold. • This year the junior leads the team in average (.383), hits (49), homers (10), and RBI (39). He has a .703 slugging percentage to go along with a .467 on-base percentage. AGAINST THE CAA • Head coach Brian Murphy has a success in weekend series against members of the CAA. START ME UP • W&M has scored in the first inning 11 different times this season, including the last two games. The Tribe has posted 10-1 record when they score in the first inning.• On the other hand, W&M has posted a 11-9 record when they score first at any point during the game.

WALK THIS WAY• W&M scored its second walk-off win of the season on Sunday afternoon against Elon. The Tribe previously walked off against Northern Kentucky 5-4, before the Elon win on Sunday. • Both walk-offs have come off of the bat of freshman Cullen Large.

GETTING ON BASE• Junior Ryan Hissey’s 14-game on-base streak, the longest of the season for any Tribe player, came to an end on April 11 at UNCW. He has now reached base in 15 of his last 16 games. • Senior Willie Shaw and freshman Cullen Large have the second longest streaks on the team. Both players reached base safely in the 13-straight games.

BE A DUDE• For the past three seasons, the W&M coaching staff has handed out the “Be A Dude” award for the Tribe player with the most two-out RBI. Currently junior Charley Gould leads the team with 19 two-out RBI. Juniors Josh Smith and Ryan Hissey and freshman Cullen Large are second on the team with nine RBI.• As a team, W&M has 71 two-out RBI, which is 43-percent of the Tribe’s RBI this season.

NOTHING BUT CLASS• William and Mary baseball senior Jason Inghram has been named one of 30 candidates for the NCAA Senior Class Award. Inghram is the lone candidate from a Colonial Athletic Association school. • An active member of both the Williamsburg and Chesapeake community Inghram has made three mission trips to Nicaragua, leads bible study groups with local high school students, and volunteers at the Williamsburg ARC. • On the field, he is the anchor of the Tribe rotation and is just three wins away from becoming the school’s leader in that category. • Finally, the Chesapeake, Virginia native has excelled in the classroom. He is set to graduate in May with a degree in

JOHNNY BENCH AWARD• For the second straight season, W&M junior catcher Ryan Hissey has been named to the 2015 Johnny Bench Award Watch List presented by Baseball Savings. The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission oversees the award, which is given to the nation’s best catcher. • Hissey was named a First-Team All-CAA catcher last year, and was also named Preseason All-CAA at the position this year. • The watch list will be narrowed down to the semifinalists, whom will be announced on May 14, 2015.

DOUBLING DOWN• W&M, which led the country in five categories a season ago, ranks eighth in doubles per game this, having led the category for a couple of weeks. The Tribe has hit 2.4 doubles a game, so far this season.• As a team, the Tribe ranks 13th with 83 total doubles.

COMMONWEALTH CLASH• W&M will play 11 games against teams from the Common-wealth of Virginia in the 2015 season. • The Tribe faces off against VMI (April 21), Longwood (L, 4-7), Virginia Tech (W, 5-1), Richmond (L, 2-4), Radford (L, 1-4), Old Dominion (L, 0-4, W, 11-9), Virginia (L, 2-3), and James Madison (April 17-19). • So far this season, W&M has posted a 2-5 record against teams from the Commonwealth of Virginia.

ALL I DO IS WIN• Senior starting pitcher Jason Inghram has been one of the Tribe’s pitching anchors for W&M. He currently sits just three wins away from breaking the W&M pitching wins record. • Whit Farr posted 25 career victories from 2000-02.

GRAND OLE TIME • W&M has blasted three grand-slam home runs this season. Senior Willie Shaw, junior Charley Gould, and sophomore Mat-thew Tilley have all hit grand-slams this season.

FANTASTIC FERNANDEZ • Junior starting pitcher Aaron Fernandez, who has made the start in the Tribe’s last three-midweek games, made his first weekend start of his career and didn’t disappoint. He allowed just one earned run on three hits and he earned his second win of the season. • Last weekend, Fernande turned his best performance of the season, tossing six innings, not allowing an earned run and scattering six hits. He fanned four Seahawks in the game, but didn’t factor into the decision. • Fernandez set a career-high with nine strikeouts in his last start at Richmond on March 24, before coming on in relief for 4.2 innings against Elon on March 29.

LARGE AND IN CHARGE• Freshman Cullen Large has started all but one game so far this season at second base. He turned in the best week of his young career the week ending March 15, hitting .632 with seven RBI and seven runs scored. • For the week of March 16, Large was named both the CAA Player and Rookie of the Week• The Richmond, Virginia native posted a 12-game hitting streak from Feb. 28 to March 14.

BRING OUT THE BROOMS• W&M has swept two of its three weekend series so far this season. Following dropping the opening weekend series at No. 18 Ole Miss, W&M has swept Northern Kentucky and UMass Lowell.

HOME SWEET HOME• The Green and Gold saw its eight game home winning streak come to an end against UConn on Wednesday night. Despite the setback, W&M has enjoyed a lot of success at Plumeri Park, posting a 29-9 record under coach Murphy in his two-year tenure.

SUPER SUNDAY• With Sunday usually being the end of a baseball weekend se-ries, those games can decide the difference between a sweep, a series victory, or getting swept. The Tribe has made the most of its Sunday games, winning 15 of its last 16, including seven of eight this year. • Last year, W&M lost two Sunday games all season.

LET’S PLAY TWO! • Due to the weather conditions, the William and Mary base-ball team played its sixth doubleheader on March 28 against Elon. W&M has posted a 7-5 record in doubleheaders so far this season. • Last season the Tribe was forced into four double dips.• The Towson series was the first weekend all season that the Tribe wasn’t forced to play a doubleheader this year.

MAKES YOU WANT TO STAY • W&M played its third extra inning games of the season on March 21 at Kennesaw State, the Owls scored two runs in the bottom of the 10th to win the game. The Tribe has posted a 2-1 record in extra games so far this season.

HOME STAND PUT ON ICE• W&M was supposed to open a 15-game home stand, which was the longest home stand in school history, that stretches from Feb. 17 to March 11, but the weather in Williamsburg has been uncorpotive. • The Green and Gold played its home opener, finally, on Sunday, March 8 against UMass Lowell. The Tribe picked up a doubleheader sweep of the River Hawks. • W&M’s 15-game home stand ended up being just a four-game home stand.

WEEKLY AWARDS• Junior Charley Gould became the first Tribe player to take home a CAA weekly award when he was named the league’s player of the week for the week of March 2. For the weekend, Gould hit .545 (6-for-11) with two home runs, nine RBI, three runs scored, a slugging percentage of 1.091, and an on-base percentage of .615.• Freshman Cullen Large swept the Player and Rookie of the Week awards for the week of March 16. The freshman hit a team-best .632 with seven RBI and seven runs scored over four games the week.

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU• Sophomore Nick Brown had a strong start to his season toss-ing flve quality starts, and picked up four wins.• His best outing came in his home debut against UMass Lowell when he pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just four hits, while striking out five.

QUALITY GUYS• Sophomore Nick Brown leads the Tribe with five quality starts (6 innings pitched, less than four earned runs) this season. Senior Jason Inghram has collected for quality starts to start while junior Aaron Fernandez has three, and classmate Mitchell Aker has two. • Last season, Inghram posted 11 quality starts, while Brown, who only started seven games, posted two.

AMONG THE BEST• Pefect Game magazine announced its top 100 prospects for each class earlier this season. W&M senior Jason Inghram was ranked No. 55 among the senior class.

• Inghram has been one of the anchors of the Tribe’s rotation the last two seasons. Last season, Inghram posted a 10-2 record, throwing 109.2 innings, with a 2.71 ERA. He gave up only 33 earned runs, striking out 91 batters, and limited hitters to a .224 batting average.

THIRTY FOR THREE• For the third straight season the Tribe has won at least 30 games. The College won 34 games in 2012, a school record 39 games in 2013, and have already won 34 games this season. • From 2001-2004, the Tribe won at least 30 games in all of those seasons.

PRESEASON ACCOLADES• Four Tribe baseball student-athletes were selected to the All-CAA Preseason Team prior to the season. • Senior Jason Inghram and juniors Charley Gould, Joseph Gaouette, and Ryan Hissey all garnered the preseason accolade.

The Green and Gold was selected to finish behind defending champ College of Charleston and UNCW. • CAA newcomer Elon was selected to finish fourth, while Northeastern (fifth), Delaware (sixth), Hofstra (tied seventh), James Madison (tied seventh), and Towson (ninth) rounded out the coaches’ poll.
