Energy Industry Fundamentals Curriculum

• A national product developed to encourage new workers to meet employers’ workforce needs• The web-based version is extending implementation to

instructor-led, distance learning environments• The goal is to create a pipeline of new workers

with skills to compete for high wage jobs in the utility industry

• Designed to convey and enhance learner knowledge to pass pre-employment exams and/or to pursue additional education/training for workforce credentials

• Supports math skill confidence and increase problem solving skills –- essential to student success in nuclear and non-nuclear technical degree programs and jobs

Implementation of EIF CurriculumTargeted Student Populations:

EIF Relevance to AAS Nuclear Technology Educational Programs:• Content not included in Nuclear Uniform

Curriculum Program (NUCP) content ACAD 08-006, and QA/QC/NDE Criteria

• Content is also not covered in many BS Engineering degree programs

EIF is designed to attract new workers to energy jobs, and conveys overall utility industry knowledge and career awareness that enhances worker productivity at NPPs and their vendors
