The famous English poet,

playwright and actor William

Shakespeare was born in April 23

,1564.

His native town Stratford-upon-

Avon is in the centre of England.

He is ofen called England,s

national poet and the ‘’Bard of

Avon’’.

W. SHAKESPEARE’S FAMILY

W. Shakespeare was born and

brought up in Stratford –upon-Avon.

He went to school in Stratford and

he probably became a teacher.

At the age of 18 he married Anne

Hathaway With whom he had three

children. Susanna and twins Hamnet

and Judith.

His parents were. John

Shakespeare father and Mary

Shakespeare mother.

SHAKESPEARE’S WORKS

W. Shakespeare, successful career began in London as an

actor, writer and part-owner of The Globe theatre. He

quickly became a well-known actor and playwright.

His extant works consist of about 38 plays, Including A

Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet, 154

sonnets, two long poems and a few other verses.

His tragedies including Hamlet, King Lear, Othello and

Macbeth were the finest works.

Shakespeare returned to Stratford

in 1611.

He died, aged exactly 52, on 23

April 1616.

Today 400 years later he is one of

the famous writers of the world, and

there are many films of his plays.

His grave is in Stratford but his

statue stands in Westminster Abbey

in London.
