WIND ENERGY IN WYOMING

Wyoming is a national leader in wind generation potential.Wyoming has one of the richest wind resources in the nation, with a technical potential of approximtely 472,000 MW according to NREL. Wyoming currently has 1,589 MW of online wind capacity, with a total capital investment of $3.3 billion. By combining its potential wind resource with manufacturing expertise, Wyoming could become a powerhouse for the wind industry. Investment in transmission infrastructure and maintaining a competitive state tax profile are critical elements for the state to expand wind power, which will create even more opportunities for economic diversification including the attraction of manufacturers and service suppliers.
