In windows 8 you could set your personalized or customized images into the present icons. The icons will be swapped to new images with few easy steps. Follow the steps here apply the trick in your windows 8

icons.

File extension of ICONs in Windows 8 is .ico. So you have to convert your personal or customized

images in .ico format. A huge number of free tools are available in internet. You can use one of them to convert. Here is an example of image converter

http://www.icoconverter.com/ . First open the converter and locate the file you want to change

file format. You could choose the file size and “Bit Depth” also. Now chick “Convert” and your image

file will be processed to .icon format.

Now choose the icon you want to change the image. Right click on the ICON. Now click Properties. Here we

are showing Google Chrome icon. Now you have to click “Short cut” tab and then click “change icon button”.

Now select the image you want to set as ICON which you have converted into .ico format. Now click “Open” button. From

the “Change Icon” window click OK. Now you will be returned to the “Google

chrome properties” window and then click “Apply”.
