Awards Ceremony

Julia Kim, age 14, is a freshman at Hunter College High School. Since 2015 Julia has studied with Ernest Barretta at the Pre College Division of the Juilliard School. Julia has performed at Weill Recital Hall, the Greene Space, Merkin Hall, Steinway Hall and on live broadcast at WQXR at Lincoln Center. Julia has performed at Paul Hall Morse Hall and Wilson Theater. She earned first place at the Bradshaw Buono International Piano Competition and the Piano Teachers Congress Honors Program. She won the Dorothy and Sidney Morrow Baroque Composition Award. Julia has performed at Tanglewood and at master classes with Angela Hewitt, Thomas Rosenkranz, Gila Goldstein and Irina Sharapova.

Olivia (13) and Eduard (12) were born in Naples, Florida. They have been taking piano lessons for three and a half years with Ludmilla Shakuro who has encouraged them to participate in different international competitions. In the summer of 2017 they auditioned for the Golden Key International Music Festival and were awarded with a Laureate Diploma and Medal and performed at the historic Ehrbar Hall in Vienna, Austria. In 2018 they participated again in the Golden Key International Music Festival and were awarded the Silver Diploma and performed at the Winners Recital at Carnegie Hall in New York. They have also been awarded as Grand Prix winners and Best Ensemble Prize in the 2018 Concert Festival at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. To prepare for these competitions they play for audiences at their home and at area senior living communities. They both enjoy classical, romantic, jazz and modern music from composers like Stravinsky, Shchedrin and Lecuona. Their dream is to perform concerto with an orchestra

one day.
