    August 9, 2015

Last Sunday evening our church extended a call to Steven and Stephanie Smithson to serve as the Pastor here

at First Baptist Church. I am convinced that the Smithson’s coming to our church is the result of the Holy

Spirit’s leadership. This was evidenced in the conviction that the search committee had, the response by the

Smithson’s, and the overwhelming approval by the church.

It is right and proper that we extend words of congratulations and gratitude to Steve Bates and the members of

the Search Committee. Their prayerful consideration and patience to wait on God’s will was well rewarded.

Let’s pray daily for Steven, Stephanie, Monica, Eli, and Silas as they make the transition from one church to

another. They will need our total support and cooperation. I believe exciting days for First Baptist Church

    are in the near future.

We will discover God Is Loving, Eternal, Faithful, and Trustworthy. Children will have the option to choose from four track options after completing Bible study: Art, Discovery, Recreation/Sports, and Cheerleading. If you have not signed up to volunteer or uncertain of where you will be serving, stop by the registration table in the parlor on Sunday morning. You can register at the Main Sanctuary entrance each night beginning at 5:45pm or pre-register online at www.fbcwinn.com and click on the VBS web banner. VBS is for children that have completed PreK - 5th grades. VBS is open to all children in our community and we will provide supper each night for chil-dren and volunteers. Invite your family, friends and neighbors to join us for Under the Big Top Kids VBS. Family celebration will be Thursday, August 13th at 7pm in the sanctuary. Children will come at 6pm as usual and families and church members are invited to join us for our closing celebration with special guest Kyle Jarrard in the FBC Sanctuary at 7pm.
