Welcome to Winter 2016! Dear H.O.P.E. Participants and Friends,

Fall was beautiful! I hope you were able to enjoy the nice weather and participate in some H.O.P.E. classes and trips. Now we’re moving right into Winter!

Do you like to make craft projects? Do you like to learn to cook? Do you like to build? Do you like to play BINGO and win prizes? How about playing basketball games? How about dancing, bowling, watching hockey, and going to plays? We’ve got it all in this season’s H.O.P.E. flyer!

Our new Winter Beach Party in January will surely be a fun break from the cold and snow outside. Take a look at what’s inside this flyer and have fun choosing which classes to sign up for. And enjoy the winter. It sure can be cold in Minnesota but it’s also a beautiful season with the sparkly snow!

Build It! Homemade Wood CraftTime to get constructing! Staff from the Elk River Home Depot will help you build a tool box and a framed chalkboard out of wood while enjoying the company of others. You’ll use a hammer and nails, and finish each project by painting them to make it your own! All supplies are included.

Hip Hop BeginnersCardio fitness meets hip hop dance for a super fun workout! You’ll be having such a great time you won’t even realize the great workout you’re getting. Working out is better with friends, so grab some and get in shape together. This class includes participants with and without disabilities. A H.O.P.E. staff member will be present to assist if needed. If assistant plans to participate in the exercises, they need to also register for the class and pay the fee.

If personal care assistance is needed, I will arrange for assistance in advance. I understand that the District cannot be held responsible for unforeseen circumstances or events that may occur during the activity time. I agree that the ISD 728 Community Education staff will use their best judgment and training in providing a safe experience for all of the participants. I understand that if emergency medical treatment is determined to be necessary by the staff and I am unable to be contacted, the staff will proceed with securing such emergency care, including hospitalization, as may be deemed necessary under the circumstances.

I, the undersigned, am the parent or guardian of the above named participant. I give him/her permission to participate in the activities I have selected, sponsored by District 728 Community Education. I assume full responsibility for myself and my son/daughter for any accidents, risks and hazards incidental to such participation, including transportation to and from said program and/or if I am transporting myself and/or the participant(s) to off-site activities. ISD 728 Community Education and its agents, volunteers, organizers and supervisors shall in no way be liable to me, my son/daughter, the executor or administrator for any damages or redress in any form for any injury caused or sustained by my son/ daughter except for willful negligence. I hereby release, absolve, and agree to hold harmless District 728 Community Education and its agents, volunteers, organizers and supervisors from any liability from any accident or injury to my son/daughter while participating in such activity.
