WINTER 2018-2019 CHAPTER NEWSLETTER
Dear Colleagues, Happy Holiday Season and Happy New Year from your ACP Michigan Chapter!
We look forward to 2019 but are especially thankful for making it through another eventful year. All of us strive to do
our best for our families and our patients. Holiday time is time for families, so please thank your families, for without
them, we physicians cannot be helpful to our patients. I was blessed with two more grandchildren in November, two
weeks apart, so I am now six times blessed with grandkids. What fun!
In 2019 our Chapter will continue to build on our Early Career Physician group activities and schedule another get
together for young physicians. Our kick-off event in November was successful but we need to hear from our young
physicians what types of events or programs you find interesting. Telemedicine is a new patient model so the early
career group plans to sponsor a course on this topic at our fall meeting in Grand Rapids, October 2019. New resolutions
are now being vetted for fall 2019 so if you have concerns or changes in medicine you wish to bring to the Board of
Governors please share with me or our Health and Public Policy committee. Our Chapter can also sponsor a state visit
on advocacy with help from MSMS: Michigan State Medical Society.
No matter where you look there is work to do for physicians and patients in Michigan. The fun part is connecting with
your colleagues and sharing to energize your practice and love of medicine.
Please keep in touch and let us know what more our ACP Chapter can do to serve you and your patients. Kindest regards,
MARTHA GRAY
