EachtimewepreparetowritethiscoverstoryhighlightingoneofourPennValleycoworkers,we’reamazedathowGodcontinuestodirectpeopleherewiththeskills,abilities,andcharacterweneedinordertofaithfullyserveyourneedswithexcellence.ThearrivalofRyanMeyersinthespringof2014wasnodifferent. Ryancametouswith10yearsofexperienceinthepropaneindustry.Hehadspentmostofhistimedeliveringpropane,butalsohadexperienceforecastingdeliveriesanddispatchingdrivers.Heisreliable,hardworking,servantminded,andcommittedtodoingthebestjobpossible.Weweregladtohavehimjoinusasadeliverydriverandalsoasourbackupdispatcher. OneyearafterRyanarrived,wetransitionedtoanewsoftwareplatform.Hisknowledgeofthissystem,fromapriorjob,wasinvaluableinhelpingusfigureoutthedeliveryaspectsofournewsoftware.In2017,ourfaithful,longstandingdispatcherandclosefriend,PhilMoyer,chosetomakeacareertransitionandnowworksforhisson’sbusiness.Needlesstosay,wewerethankfultoGodforbringingRyanheresohecouldbepreparedforthisnewrolebyhavingthreeyearstolearnfromPhilasbackupdispatcher.

WhileRyanwashopingforhisfirstwinterasdispatchertobeawarmone,ifyoulivedinourregionlastyearyouknowthatitwasanythingbutwarm.

ThankfulnessisreallywhattheThanksgivingandChristmasseasonisallabout.Buthowdoesathankfulheartmakeadifferenceinmylife?I’veseenhowitaffectsthosearoundmethroughmywordsandactions.AthankfulheartimpactsmyperspectiveonmydayandhowIapproachmyrelationshipsandwork.Thanksgivinghasanamazingwayofcausingmyfocustobeonothersandlessonmyself.TheBibleexplainsthatathankfulheartisacriticalpartofexperiencingGod’speaceinthemidstoftroublingtimes(Philippians4:4-7).WhileourculturemighthaveusfocusonhowmanyshoppingdaysareleftbeforeChristmas,rememberingtheblessingsofourlivesandspendingtimewithlovedonesarejusttwoofthemanywayswecanembracethankfulness. TheBalmerfamilyisverythankfulforallofthegreatwomenandmenwhoworkwithushereatPennValley.Wequiteoftenhavecustomerscallorwriteabouttheexceptionalserviceandcaretheyhaveexperienced.WewantyoutoknowthatourservicetoyoustartswithourLordJesus,whocameatChristmastobeourSavior(John3:16).Hehasmadethedifferenceinourlivesandthethankfulheartwithwhichweliveandserve. Iwanttogiveawarmandspecialwelcometoallofournewcustomers.Wehopeyouwillcometoexperienceandvaluethesamelong-termtrustedrelationshipthatexistingPennValleycustomerstellustheyappreciate.Wepraythatyouwillhaveampletimetoenjoytheblessingsoffamily,friends,andtraditionsthroughoutthisholidayseason.

findjoyinknowingGodlovesus,caresaboutus,andhasaplanforourlives,evenforthis.OureternalhopeinJesusChristenabledustopersevereonthisjourney. Mollywasboldandoutgoing.Notonlydidsheloveanimalsbutshealsohadaheartforthehomeless.DuringfamilytripstoWashingtonDC,shewouldeathalfofherlunchandgivetheotherhalftosomeoneinneed.Whenshewasinthehospital,shewouldwanttobuyballoonsordrawpicturesforotherchildrenontheoncologyfloor.Mollywasalsoknownforherfaith.At11yearsold,whilewaitingforbrainbiopsysurgery,sheaskedthesurgeon,“AmIgoingtodie?”Shewasnotafraid.ShehadfaithbecausesheknewJesusChristdiedtorescueherandwouldbetheretowelcomeherintoheaven. OnJanuary5,2018,wesaidgoodbyeforthelasttimetoMolly.Ourlivesarericherbecauseofhavingbeengiventhisgiftfor13½ years.Wehavecomfortknowingthatshepeacefullyleftusandisnowcompleteandwhole,jumpingwithjoyinthepresenceoftheLord.Despitethesadnesswefeelwealsohavereasontofindjoy.Joyineachother,inwhatGodhasgivenus,andinthehopethatweknowistrue.I’dliketoencourageyoutoreconcilewithsomeonewhohaswrongedyou,spendextratimewithyourchildren,orcallthatpersonyouhaven’tspokenwithsinceanargument.Whateveritis,lovehealsit,Godheals,looktoHimtobeyourcomfort.Ray Worner joined our Penn Valley family in 2006 as service dispatcher and now spends his time working with new customers and new installations. We appreciate his ability to come alongside customers and builders to develop and support long-term, trusted relationships. Thank you, Ray, for sharing your family’s story with us and for living out an example of faithfulness in the midst of such difficult circumstances.

4. Makesureiceorsnowisnotblockingyourregulatorvent.Anareaoffourfeet,extendinginalldirectionsfromthevent,shouldbekeptcleartopreventventblockage.Metercustomersshouldclearaccumulatedsnowfromaroundthemeterandregulator.

1. Check Your Thermostat: ConfirmthatitissettotheHEAT settingaswellastheAUTOsetting.Tostartyourheater, setthethermostatseveraldegreeshigherthanthecur- renttemperature.

4. Reset Your Furnace: Turningthepowertothefurnace OFFfor30secondsandthenbackONwillcauseitto attempttorunthroughanotherheatcycle.

5. Check the Propane Tank Gauge: Thisgaugeislocated underthelidofyourpropanetank.Ifthegaugeis readingemptyorextremelylow,youmayneeda propanedelivery(Asamplegaugeisonpage4).
