The Asotin County Public Facilities District was formed on July 15th, 2013 for the purpose of asking the voters of Asotin County to approve a 2/10 of 1 percent sales tax to be dedicated to the continued maintenance and operations of the Asotin County Family Aquatic Center. The District Board of Directors is made up of 5 individuals appointed by the County Commissioners, 1 from Clarkston, 1 from Asotin and 3 from the unincorporated county.

Swim on your own or on a team of up to 4 people. Register under a team name and count your miles together! Think you’ve got this swimming thing down? Can’t be beat in the pool? See if you’ve got what it takes to swim to Heller Bar in just a month. A fun program for all swimmers. Try to swim to Heller Bar by counting laps that you swim in the Cove Natatorium. Swim 22 miles before the program ends and receive an official T-shirt. Chart your progress on a map of the river posted in the pool area. 1 mile is equal to 72 pool lengths (36 laps). Everyone who makes it to the end of the swim by March 31st will be entered in a drawing for a 3-month membership.

100 MILE DASHApril 1 - 30 in the Fitness Center Cost $15, with a membership; $20 w/o membership

Compete on a team up to 4 people Register under a team name and count your miles together! It’s not an April Fool’s joke; we really want to see you go the distance. Sign up for the 100 mile dash and spend the month of April finding out how far and fast you can make it using a treadmill or elliptical your choice. WORLD’S LARGEST SWIMMING LESSONThursday, June 20, Time: 11-11:30aThe nation’s top water safety and training organizations are joining forces to present The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL) to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning. On June 24th, waterparks, pools and other aquatic facilities around the globe will host local WLSL lessons simultaneously in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record.

The Asotin County Family Aquatic Center is one of the host facilities. Kids of all ages are welcome. Children under 3 must have a parent in the water with them. Admission is free.

First 50 participants receive free admission into the waterpark for the day.

American Red Cross Lifeguarding is your ticket to fantastic, rewarding work at almost any swimming facility in the country. Upon successful completion, you will be certified in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, and oxygen administration.

New American Red Cross requirements for recertification are completion of a 12-hour review course prior to your current certification’s expiration. Participants will be refreshed in their lifesaving, CPR/AED, and first aid skills, and provided instruction in the most up-to-date skills and techniques.
