WELCOME TO OUR WINTER NEWSLETTER

I cant believe it’s already the end of another year, just goes to show that time does fly when you are having fun!

Here at Elite we have been promoting our products at national exhibitions, been presented with awards to recognise our growth and achievements, carried on expanding our team, designed and installed some fantastic projects and even found the time to do some volunteering work to help the local community.

If all of the above wasn't enough, we have also managed to design a new concept for our frameless glass balustrade systems with a side mounted mini post profile, giving us the chance to offer clients more choice to meet their vast range of requirements.

As always thank you for your continued support and interest in our products, you have made our growth possible and we are very much looking forward to 2016.

In October we exhibited our balustrade and composite decking product range at the renowned Grand Designs Live Exhibition at Birmingham NEC.

We were delighted with the interest in our complete outdoor living solutions among the many visitors across the four day period.

Visitors would come and see us investigating a glass balustrade for their balcony and be amazed to find we offer an innovative qwickbuild aluminium decking frame solution, perfect as a flooring solution.

No matter at what stage the project was at, we were able to discuss ideas and recommendations, providing bespoke quotations for design, manufacturing and also installation when required.

We have also been very busy creating new profiles for our industry-leading frameless glass balustrade range with a side mounted stainless steel mini post system.

A different concept for a frameless glass railing system, the mini post balustrade is a stylish and economical solution for a glass balcony or garden balustrade without having to compromise on quality and safety.

The system uses a simple design of base, and now side mounted duplex stainless steel glass clamps, offering superior corrosion resistance when installed outdoors.

The intelligent glass clamps can hold a glass thickness of 12mm right up to 17.5mm, making it ideal for a variety of requirements and locations, while offering a clear line of sight on a smaller budget.

Steady growth from the business starting in 2007 through to 2012, and maintaining turnover and profit during the period of 2012 and 2015, has provided us with the firm platform required for investing further into the business and kick starting a rapid growth plan for the next 5 years.

In the last 6 months we have seen an increase in the workforce by 66% and have invested in larger premises to provide more office space for the growing team and bigger workshop facilities to handle the ever increasing demand of the balustrade kits and the newly introduced composite decking system.

We were very strategic when thinking about expanding our product range and entering new markets. In the balustrade industry there has always been an issue in finding a safe solution when customers were looking for a decking and railing system that would work together. The composite decking solution we have introduced works seamlessly with Elite Balustrade’s glass railing systems, giving our customer a one-stop-shop opportunity when wanting to create an outdoor living space.

OUTSTANDING IMPORT ACHIEVEMENT 2015

In December we joined other East Lancashire businesses for the Annual International Trade Club Awards, a networking group we regularly take part in throughout the year to discuss and share best practice for international trade, and to exchange knowledge and advice.

This year we were awarded the title for Outstanding Import Achievement thanks to the trade activity we have carried out with Outdure, based in New Zealand, to bring the innovative Qwickbuild Aluminium Decking Frame and Resortdeck Composite Decking Boards to the UK and Europe.

A TRIP TO GHANA FOR OUR SALE SPECIALIST

Our sales specialist Robert managed to find some time away from his hot desk for a return trip to Ghana where he lived from October 2013 to May 2014. During his time there he travelled throughout the region to learn about their culture and way of life, whilst also helping to establish Kpuusuu Farms carry out vaccinations and vetting of over 1000 hens to prepare them for the laying stage.

The farm was established to raise funds for the development of the recently opened Valley View Guest House and Robert was kindly invited for a visit in November during the opening week.

The guest house will serve as a meeting point for the local assembly to discuss business matters, but was also built strategically near the country’s largest natural game park, Mole, and a local Hippo sanctuary, hoping to start a tourism business to develop the region further.

DOING OUR BIT FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Some of our team members also found the time to volunteer for the organising and running of the Annual Whalley PickWick Charity Festival.

The festival always takes place on the first Thursday in December and is organised and run by a group of local volunteers, raising valuable funds that are put back into the local community.

It is great to see the local community coming together and welcoming the festive season with this annual event, which also attracts visitors from further afield for a family evening out.

Local businesses all get involved in making sure the event is a success each year, whether is windy, pouring down with rain, or covering the ground with snow.

CASE STUDY: QWICKBUILD DECKING FRAME OVER SOIL

Following a visit to Grand Designs Live Exhibition, a customer from Southampton approached us regarding a new build project he was currently undertaking. He required a decking solution to surround two sides of the property and was extremely impressed with our qwickbuild aluminium sub-structure on display. By visiting the show he was able to get a real feel for the product and experience the quality of the system first hand, including the resortdeck composite decking boards.

By just utilising the building plans provided by the customers we were able to prepare a detailed quotation for the system together with installation prices and time frame for completion. The project was quickly secured and the design kick started by our in-house team.

Once the design visuals were approved by the customer, a total of 35 square metres of decking sub-structure was pre-fabricated in our workshop in just two weeks, then transported to site as made-to-measure sections ready for easy installation.

The decking system needed to be incorporated with custom made windows from Germany, which included a slot at the bottom of the frame to secure the decking boards for a seamless finish to the walkway. Using the adjustable jacks we were able to make sure the level of the deck was extremely accurate to match the bottom of the windows, even though the ground was uneven. When it came to slotting the composite decking boards into place, the job was easy and fast to complete thanks to the support of the aluminium frame and the intelligent stainless steel fasteners used to secure the boards to the structure, eliminating the need for time-consuming traditional fixing methods.

During this installation our team took extra care in making sure every detail was not overlooked, spending time to fit the decking structure around a number of visible drains, creating a tidy and smooth finish the client desired. The whole project was installed in just three days on site and compliment the high quality standards of this new build perfectly.
