During the sessions, tech-niques will be shared, and as the series progresses, some sewing will be done in class (although most of the stitching will be done at home between classes). Elizabeth Hartman continues her incredible run - more new patterns - all winners! With “Lisa the Unicorn”, her menagerie takes a fantastical turn. You can dig into your 2 ½” strips to make the colorful, pieced mane which makes this creature magical, and then add more ordinary yardage for the body and back-ground. Elizabeth shares detailed cutting charts that tend to look a bit intimidating (but every cut, other than that wonderful horn, is just a square or rectangle!), and then moves on to her very straight forward piecing instructions. The animals seem to appear by magic as you stitch - perfect in this case!

QC Date book ~ get yours before they are sold out!

Several years ago, we came up with the idea of producing a little date book for QC guests. It would have information about some of the events in the upcoming year and give us a chance to share special offers with everyone. It certainly was a hit, and continues to be to this day. This year, we have even decided to share small date book updates (little flyers on our counter) as the year goes along, because who really knows in October of one year what they will be doing in July of the following year?! You can find the 2018 date books on the front coun-ter while the supply lasts. Consider getting one today.2018 QC Date Book $1.99 each

This is the second in Darlene’s template quilt series. Just as there are with many other patterns, there are many ways to get Flying Geese. The Flying Geese ruler from Eleanor Burns makes cutting and sewing geese easier and more accurate. The ruler contains two sizes. Darlene chose the larger size and found it was fun to stitch such large pieces. After you have the geese made, there are many ways to set them. Darlene chose to make twelve 16” squares of eight geese. To make the geese a little different she added four folded triangles to the centers creat-ing a whirly gig. Make her design or one square would make a great pillow, or use three or four squares for a table runner.

In class, you will learn how to fold the fabric, press, and how to fold again to make Leesa’s dimensional blocks. You will then learn how to border the blocks so they can be incorporated into the runner (or one of the other four items detailed in the pattern). Consider using Leesa’s Textile Pantry fabrics for a really elegant result.

Do you remember the tube you put to your eye, held up to the light, and then turned the end? Darlene remembers seeing the wonderful colorful patterns that appeared and disap-peared as she turned. She always wanted to capture the patterns on paper. Wouldn’t it be fun to be able to make a quilt pattern by looking into your kaleidoscope? This quilt reminds Darlene of those patterns. Using a dark, in this case a black solid background, makes the solid bright colors pop. You will use a method somewhat like piecing half square triangles, only using rectangles. Darlene learned the technique just for the class sample. You will have an easier time piecing than she did! If you have a kaleidoscope, bring it to class - she is bringing hers!

Fee: $20.00

In class, she will share the tech-niques used to create the circle of geese featured in the Crazy Tula pillow and share other geese she is creating for her own magnificent quilt.

Truly incredible quilts can be created little by little over the course of a year. The beauty of the finished quilts, and the seem-ing ease with which they are created, is the reason these quilts are so very popular. You will find details about several of the block-of-the-month programs here, others can be seen in the shop. Consider joining us for one, or several, this year.

Almond Country BeautyThis fun, bright quilt is made up of sixteen, 12” foundation-

pieced quarter-compass blocks. Each segment of the 60” x 60” quilt is different, and will feature a range of prints (including batiks) which coordinate with our inspiration fabric. You will select a background (5 1/8 yards), and we provide the prints. As a special gift, gather all of your monthly kits during the year and receive the 13th pattern (border and setting directions), inner border fabric, and binding fabric free!

Fee: $15.00 per month (fee includes patterns, piecing fabrics, and Almond Country Beauty introductory session at 12:00pm on January 20, 2018) Please note - pre-registration required, month 12 kit fee is paid when registering

Be My NeighborWelcome to the Moda neighborhood - a whimsical 68” x 84 ½”

quilt composed of sixteen different pieced house blocks. Your quilt will require 4 ½ yards of background, 1 ¼ yards border and 2/3 yards binding - the rest of the piecing can be done from a wide range of fabrics. Make your village from fabrics in a single color, or style, or by a single designer, or go crazy and include everybody!

Fee: This one is different - the pattern is a gift with the purchase of five Moda fat quarters each month (or a single Moda cut of 1 ¼ yards or longer during the month). Each pattern is available for a single month - pattern #1, January, is available now. Registration is required.

Floral MenagerieThis cheerful 72 ½” x 96 ½” quilt stopped us in our tracks at

Quilt Market. The simple appliqué shapes worked in the wonder-ful floral print proved irresistible! Each of the twelve blocks finish-es 24” x 24”. Various techniques are used including strip piecing, stitch and flip, foundation piecing, and appliqué. Your monthly kits will include the piecing and appliqué fabrics and pattern.

Fee: $18.95 per month

William Morris MedallionThis classic 72” x 72” pieced medallion quilt dramatically show-

cases prints inspired by the work of William Morris. Moda is presenting the quilt in a journal format - a small booklet with basic block instructions and room for you to add notes about your creative journey. The quilt can be worked in the fabrics Moda shows (ask about purchasing a kit), or in Morris fabrics from your collection, or in any other fabrics you select (be sure to add your scraps!). We will meet every other month over the course of the year to review block construction and setting directions. Some of the blocks may even be worked by hand during our meetings. This is an incredible quilt - a true tribute to Morris’ belief that you should own only those things you believe to be useful and beauti-ful (this medallion is both!)

Fee: $42.00 (includes booklet and meetings) Sessions will be held January 23, March 20, May 8, July 10, September 18 and November 20 at 10:30am.

The quilt can be worked in a rainbow, or more controlled palette - in either case it will be spec-tacular! We will hold four meetings for this quilt over the course of the coming year. The quilt is made up of thirteen appliqué 10” blocks, additional half blocks, and quarter blocks, all set in a tile-like arrangement. The colors for this year are a slightly brighter version of the rich reds, blues, greens and golds found in the tradi-tional tiles. Your kits will include patterns and appliqué fabrics, you will provide background and setting fabrics.

She will share all the piecing and pressing techniques she has learned over the years. And even though the quilt looks modern, there are two sections that are very similar to Laura’s second and third quilts from long, long ago! One is the “triangle rectangle”. What’s that? Well, take a peek toward the center of the block. In class, Laura will show how to use the Tri Recs triangle rulers needed to cut the odd shaped triangles. When you visit the store, check the back of the block to see some seams pressed open and others to one side. It took a bit of figuring, but Laura’s block lays flat and yours will too (especially when you use the pressing guide Laura will share in class!).

Sandy Gervais’ newest collection is “Love You!”. The sweet, small-scale prints feature hearts, arrows and dots. The aqua and red color combination makes them perfect for Valentines Day and for other celebrations, as well. We are just beginning to piece the “Flipped Over You” pattern she created for the group. The 18” x 28” piece is made from a Charm Pack and added fabric for back-ground and borders. If you have been storing a Tri Recs tool, it’s time to pull it out. Sandy uses the tool to cut the pieces for the bottom of the heart and then uses another technique to form their tops. We love the longer heart shape created with this pattern - perfect here and for lots of other quilts!

Fat Robin CompassBarb HudakSkill Level: IntermediateFebruary 10 Saturday ~ 10:30am – 1:30pm

Mariner’s compass construction has always meant drawing out templates or paper piecing, but with this unique ruler and strip piecing – you can leave those other methods behind. The Fat Robin ruler (included in your class fee) offers sixteen sizes to choose from (6”-36”). The class piece is made with an 8” and 26” block. There are a number of finishing options – including machine or hand appliqued centers, along with additional block finish-es. This class will teach you the technique, (you will leave with a completed block), and once you see how it’s done, you won’t be able to stop stitching compasses!

Take & Make Special Sunday ~ February 11th ~ 3:00pm

Mary Beth and Maureen are pleased to offer a special session of their Monday Take and Make series on a Sunday afternoon! During the session, you receive kits and instruction for at least five small, unique objects. In the past, we have shared needle cases, mug rugs, orna-ments… you never know what we will come up with next! This time, there will be a focus on spring - lots of bright cheerful fabrics used for fabric rosettes, triangle coasters, fat quarter bunnies and more. Register soon - these inspira-tion packed sessions sell out very quickly!

Fee: $15.00

New fabrics arrive every single day, making us wonder how the companies do it? How do they come up with one fantastic collection right after the next? Look in every corner during your next visit to see these fabrics and others that have come since these arrived!

If you need the perfect fabric for a fabulous baby or toddler quilt, Riley Blake’s new “Safari Party” collection may be just what you are looking for! Stylish zebras, elephants, and giraffes are lined up amongst geometric prints at this party, and they brought a little sparkle along! The cool pink and grey color palette is touched with just enough golden sheen to add a hint of glitter to the crew. Fun, fantastical and funky - just our kind of party!

Fabric $11.20 per yard

We are always on the lookout for cute, modern baby print panels to create quick gifts for the newest members of our families. Art Gallery has sent a great collection to help us accomplish just that. The group offers two different panel pieces along with several cute coordinates. The first panel offers four different images; three big bears, three cute cats, and two quotes - “there is no idea too wild, there is no dream too big” and “close your eyes and make a wish” (quotes appropriate for all?!). The other panel showcases two large, adorable sheep. Use them individually or with the coordinates to create a trendy, time-efficient piece for a new arrival in your life!

Fabric $11.50 per yard

Cute critters are still all the rage in toddler town! Why not add some whimsy to a project with the cute “day dreamers” from Stoff? The stars of this collection are multiple delightful little sweet mice in warm shades of rust, sunflower, crimson, rose and dusty blue set against a light grey back-ground. The coordinates of half eaten apples and tons of polka dots are a quirky addition to the group. We can see the mice peek-ing out from your next “I spy” quilt - will you let them wiggle their way into your heart?
