4.9 miles of WIS 96 from Claribel Street to County D, between Kaukauna and Wrightstown in Brown & Outagamie County (will be built together)Last improvement project took place in 2000

Deteriorating pavement, drainage structures, curb and gutter, and sidewalk need repairMultiple curb ramps along the corridor are

footprint Culvert pipe repair/replacement-2 locations Miscellaneous curb & gutter repairs Curb ramp improvements at Lamp Lighter Dr. Pavement marking Shoulder work

WIS 96Right-of-way Needs
Temporary Limited Easements (TLE)• Will be needed at some culvert replacement locations to allow for
temporary disturbance and sufficient work space to repair pipes• Needed at most curb ramp improvement locations within the Village of
Wrightstown to allow grading and blending in of adjacent properties
Permanent (Fee)• Will be needed at some curb ramp improvement locations in the village
of Wrightstown due to updated layout of the sidewalk• Will purchase area were existing sidewalk is outside of the existing
right of way to place the sidewalk into WisDOT right of way for future maintenance needs
• May need at select culvert locations…to be confirmed in final design
WIS 96Traffic Control
Work expected to take place under flagging operations with single lane closuresRoad will remain open to traffic during
construction for the majority of the project….except:
• Short term detour will be needed for culvert pipe replacements
• Tentative detour = WIS 55 - I-41 - County U
WIS 96Schedule
Additional public outreach will be conducted in late 2021 to provide updates prior to real estate acquisition and final design.Real estate acquisition will begin in early 2022.Design is on-going and will continue through
the summer of 2023.Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2025
with the possibility of advancement to 2024 if funding becomes available.
