WELCOME

A warm welcome to the 30th Workshop on Information Systems and Economics (WISE). We hope the conference, held at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich, will provide an inspiring environment for discussions and debates stimulated by the many outstanding contributors. We are honored to welcome you in Munich and we extend our best wishes to all the participants for a very successful WISE 2019!

WISE is the premier academic research forum for the discussion of information systems issues through the lens of economics. The scheduled presentations as well as the WISE 2019 keynote lecture by Prof. Paul Milgrom (Stanford University) address important business and societal questions using advanced methods and unique datasets and empirical settings. Modern IT-enabled phenomena have wide-ranging impacts for consumers, firms, industries, and markets, making this a fascinating time to be a scholar of the economics of information systems. The three-day program at WISE 2019 in Munich is designed to foster an informed and productive dialogue about the state of the art by bringing together the global academic community through presentations and discussions.

The co-chairs of WISE 2019 and the Local Organizing Committee wish you a great conference, vigorous scientific exchange and inspiring conversations with new and old friends in the beautiful city of Munich!
