The Ticino stands for many things: the sun, granite and hydropower, but
also for a great variety of nature with long valleys and steep slopes,
grapes, chestnuts and palms. Such an ambience is found nowhere else in
Switzerland. The delicious Ticino dishes we serve you, usually comes
from local products. Again and again we are searching for something new
with the aim to surprise you, our dear guests.
At the Bellini Locanda Ticinese are these wonders of nature part of our
menu. We want to introduce unceasingly to you our Ticino roots, with
new aspects. Most of the Ticino producers we personally know and vouch
for originality and quality!
On our menu we always offer a variety of alp cheeses, well ripened
and ready for enjoyment. Try our exquisite "Robiei" from the Val Bavona
or the "Piora", the king of Ticino cheese from the Alp Piora,
made high above the Leventina.

Formaggio dell‘Alpe Piora does not only let the Ticino hearts beat
faster, he is considered as the king of Ticino cheese! We get it
every fall directly from the cellar of the producer.
Formaggio dell‘Alpe Robiei is produced way back in Val Bavona, a long
side valley of the Maggia Valley, where the Alpe Robiei is embedded in
the alpine mountains. It consists of 1/3 goat milk
and 2/3 cow's milk and impresses the roof of the mouth with its spiciness.
The loaves we pick each October directly from the producer.
Zincarlin della Valle di Muggio is produced by Maria Luce Valtulini in
Morbio Superiore. The cow cream cheese (Robiola) from raw milk is
enriched with cracked pepper, stored for two to three months and
washed repeatedly with white wine.

Meat and sausage specialties we obtain from Donato Mattioli in Lavorgo,
a small butcher who knows his craft by heart.
With meticulous attention they process the meat of pigs, cows,
goats, donkeys and make particular specialties
as "Salametto di capra or asinello"!
The Mortadella as well is a Ticino particularity and not to be mixed up
with the Bologna, Gottardo oltre known as Mortadella!
F A R I N A B O N A
«Farina bona», the flour from roasted corn, is an ancient specialty of the
Onsernone Valley. Ilario Garbani saved this preservative system, before
the extinction, few years ago and provides the flour today as a small
producer in the traditional method. It reminds the taste of popcorn and
can be used for various dishes of gnocchi to ice cream.

and white photographs. The context is the origin of our family, which
comes from Bellinzonese and Lucerne. Emigration and return were over
all generations’ part of the electric field. The more valuable meaning
have "get" and "create" business and friendly relations. You realize how
they foster mutual understanding and help to overcome sometimes
occurring melancholy...

Our ceramic Bowl barbeque is heated only with charcoal. The closed
heat circulation and the constant heat radiation from the ceramic shell
