› This is mostly because it’s not as compatible with wix.com as the other two.

› A very small part is my personal preference .

› We want to use either– Chrome

› First you will need an email address. I would like you to use the one the school gave you.– It should look like this [email protected]

› Yourname and then @trentonschools.com– Since this is a Gmail account, please make sure that you

can login with out any problems.– Once you can login, proceed to the next slide.

1. Grab the top of the window by clicking on the top of the bar and holding the mouse button down.

2. Drag this all the way over to the LEFT until your cursor will go no further.

3. Let it go.

Go to wix.com, Click on Start Now

We could do this two ways› Click I’m a new user› Type

› Create a password, I suggest you use the same one to access your email.

› Since you are already logged into your school mail, you should be able to just click the g+.

› If not, then you may have to type it out.

You should arrive here

› Right now you are picking a layout for your website.

› You can always change it later.

› Since we are going to use the website to display art, you should choose something like Design, Photography, Creative Arts, or One-Pager

› After you click go, this is what you will see.

› Look at all the designs, and click the View button under a few of them.

› Remember you will be replacing the art work with your own. You are just scoping out designs.

› Click this button each time after you make a few changes.

Save immediately and frequently

You can access pages here, and delete them if you wish. Or add.

Make it your own

› You are creating a website for multiple reasons– A means for your teacher to

efficiently check up on your finished projects.

– A virtual portfolio to display your creative ability.

– Or a portfolio to show off real world skills, even profit from after you have finished the class.

Now here comes the important stuff

› A window will pop up for you to go find your image to upload.

› You should have saved your PSD and JPEG in your student thaw space.

› Make sure you click the JPEG, or PNG and NOT the PSD

› Click open

› Your image will take a few seconds to upload.

› Once uploaded, you will be able to view them like my files to the left.

› Choose an image, and Apply

› This is what it looks like when I import a picture to open space.

› However, you should use a gallery to organize your work

› You can add a gallery page like this, or modify one you already have by clicking on the stock picture.

› You must also have a gallery page displaying your work.

› You should have a page that describes who you are, and why the site exists. – This is usually a solid

paragraph. – Say what you like to eat– Favorite type of art– Pets, sports, movie

There is no limit to your creativity
