FAÇADES UK 2.0: UNFOLD THEFUTURE OF FAÇADE DESIGN
AND ENGINEERING THROUGHIDEAS AND INNOVATIONS
With the construction industry output asserted to be around 159.6bn by the end of 2018, the public and private housing segment will arise as industry’s major growth drivers. Projects like the £4bn Brent Cross Cricklewood scheme constructing 7,500 homes, and Thames Wharf scheme building 3,000 new homes will give United Kingdom’s construction industry a thrust of 2.7% in 2019. Further, with an average of 1.3% over the next five years creating a massive output of 158,000 jobs.
Advancements in building design and construction technologies including BIM, 3D printing, artificial intelligence, augmented realities etc along with the requisite of creating safe and efficient buildings that are shaping the future. The innovations witnessed in system design and structural glass domain will also give façade construction a key shift, slowly moving more towards pre-fabricated unitized methods from the traditional in-situ methods, the industry has come a long way. However, there is a slow progress to go towards digitalisation of the construction methods.
The confidence in the construction industry and its future was echoed loud at the inaugural Zak World of Façades conference last October in London, which was very widely supported by the architecture, engineering and construction fraternity. Returning to the region with the second annual edition, the conference is boasting another spectacular line up of the industry visionaries to share key insights on the pertinent and perennial challenges faced by the construction industry .
The conference will again provide the architectural and construction community with a forum to share ideas about how they think technology, demographics and demands for new buildings and homes are shaping the future of construction. The event is also doubling up an opportunity to network with current and prospective clients and witness latest products and materials on display. Be a part of the 50th global edition of the Zak World of Façades conference to find new dimensions, innovations and unconventional solutions to help catapult the region’s construction strengths to newer heights.
