MastheadThe masthead on this magazine is the second largest text suggesting that maybe the magazine is popular enough as it is so doesn’t need to be the largest. But it also suggests that is not the most important thing on the magazine and that the magazine company it self is not that important otherwise their name would be the biggest/ the most dominate on the page. The white colour is used to make it stand out against the pink background. These two colours together make the magazine seem as if it is aimed at females as these are typical female colours. Another thing we can see is that the masthead in question is being pushed of two the left, this could suggest that the name is not going to attract people in, so they have used a picture of a woman, they can then use this to try to attract their female market.

DateThe date on this magazine is shown right next to the masthead this allows readers to see the date easily and this is useful in a weekly magazine, as they may buy it every week or may want to read the magazines in order, so this allows them to do that. However the date is not ma important to the magazine s is kept small to allowed

StripIn this magazine we can see the strip used as a clear advertising tool for the magazine as it uses big bold text and a short but snappy punch line. This is used purely to try and draw readers in to the magazine. They also use a explanation mark to make the text seem important making the audience want to read as they pass by.

Colour SchemeOn this magazine the general colour scheme is pink and purple. This is for because it wants to appeal to its main target audience which is likely to be females, and pink and purple are generally seen as ‘girly colours’ Hence why they are used in the magazine. Also all the colours on the magazine are very bright, this could potentially attract people to the magazine as it stands out compared to other magazines.

Main cover lineIn this magazine we can see the Main cover line as the biggest text on the magazine cover, suggesting that it has the biggest importance on the front of the article, they highlight that by putting it in bold and having it in bright colours to try and make it stand out. This is used to draw the reader in. They also use a short and snappy phrase to try and get the onlookers to buy their magazine.

Cover linesIn this magazine the cover lines are used to give the audience a little information about what will be in the magazine. This is used to try and tempt the onlooker to but the magazine by giving quick snappy punch lines this can sometimes trick people into reading story's. Also due to the large size of the cover lines compared to the magazine it suggests this is a main part of the advertisement of the magazine’s. They also use purple yellow and white which all contrast each other which is again used to try and attract people to the magazine.

PuffIn this magazine, we can see the puff tucked right in the top right hand corner, so much so that we cant see the full puff this suggests that the puff is not very important and only gives a little information. This also shows that the magazine publishers were happy with the amount of advertisement on the front cover and just wanted to provide more information for any on lookers. Additionally it follows the normal colour scheme of the magazine which doesn’t make a stand out which links back to the idea that its just their to inform rather than advertise.
