Women and Education Educating a woman is equal to educating a generation. In the developing country like India empowering women through education is very essential to not only develop themselves, but also equally important to the economic development. The contribution women in the domestic product are increasing day by day. The illiteracy or low level of literacy of woman adversly impacts on her own health, wellbeing and prosparity and also of her children and family. The best example is the inverse relationship between the woman’s education and mortality rate, which is found in a recent survey. More and more uneducated women lead to more and more uneducated population, which is a threat to the economy as well as the society. This paper focuses on the role of women education on the overall development of the economy and the society. This conceptual paper has been developed through literature review, expert opinion and own personal views.
