14th July 2014 Orientation programme of Women Development Cell for Commerce Faculty girl Students & demonstrations on self defence by Ms Yogita Basudkar SYBCOM & Ms Rupal Yadav SYBCOM as a part of peer to peer training.

17th July 2014 The Women Development Cell of M. D. College and Department of psychology jointly organized a guest lecture on “Prenatal Care”.

The eminent gynaecologists Dr. Sudhir and Dr. Mrs. Gokral delivered talk in the lucid language , followed by a question and answer.

20th August 2014

Coordinator of “Jagar Janivancha Abhiyan - 2013-14”. M. D. College secured Two prizes viz. Second prize on District Level as well as Second prize on the University level for the campaign, launched by the Department of Higher Education & Technical state Government of Maharashtra for creating awareness on Gender Equality. On behalf of M.D. College, Principal Dr. (Ms.) T.P. Ghule and Prof. (Ms.) Priya R. Parkar, convener WDC received the award by the auspicious hands of Mr. Rajesh Tope Minister for Department of Higher Education & Technical and Mr. Jayant Patil Minister for Department of Rural Development at Sydenham college, Churchgate.

M. D. College received 2 Trophies, 2 Certificates and Cash prizes of Rs. One Lakh & Rs. Fifty Thousand respectively.

22nd August 2014

18 Students participated in the Intercollegiate competition organized by WDC of Joshi Bedekar college, Thane. Street play “ Mohini” secured the First Prize & was invited to perform on the eve of National Conference on 14-15 th January2015.

24th August 2014 Ms Husnah Qureshi (SYBCOM) & Ms Jagruti Gurav (SYBCOM)

participated in the Inter collegiate workshop organized by WDC of Dr. T K Tope on “Capacity Building in the Light of the human Rights”

WDC convener Ms Priya Parkar addressed on “Role of WDC in the Capacity Building of female students” in the capacity Guest at the valedictory function.

August 2014 WDC & Foundation Course –I jointly organized the poster competition on “ Women & AIDS” ; 74 students participated in the competition

D.C.P. Ms. Sharada Raut and Crime Reporter of T.V. Channel jay Maharashtra-Ex student, Ms. Poonam Apraj conducted an informative and interactive session on “Fighting against violence against women”. They provided information on measures taken by Mumbai Police to curb the violence against women.

Many reporters attended the event. Students asked questions to the DCP madam.

Students participated in the Inter State competition organized by Anti Dowry Movement, Mumbai at Sathye College, Ville Parle. Street play “ Mohini” secured the secured Third Prize in the street play in interstate competition.

12th Jan.2015 Students from WDC received 3rd prize of Rs. 1000/- Cash & certificates in the Inter State competition organized by Anti Dowry Movement, Mumbai.
