Wonderful Wild WestJune 23 - July 1, 2018Day 1Arrive in Denver, Colorado. Enjoy a city and foothills tour, including the state capitol, historic districts and Buffalo Bill gravesite area. We’ll spend the night in Golden, Colorado.

Day 2Today, we’ll travel Cheyenne, Wyoming to journey along the Oregon Trail, the route of the wagon trains to one of the most important stops on the trail as we visit Fort Laramie and spend our night in Lusk, Wyoming. Meals included: breakfast, dinner

Day 3Today we’ll travel to the Black Hills of South Dakota, Custer State Park & Wild Animal Preserve to see the animals that call this home, such as buffalo, pronghorn antelope and prairie dogs. Next, we’ll board open-air, four-wheel-drive jeeps for a photo safari into the buffalo herds. A buffet lunch, which includes buffalo stew, will follow at the Game Lodge. We’ll continue to Crazy Horse Monument, where you can marvel at the only on-going mountain carving in the world. Our next two nights will be spent in Deadwood, South Dakota. Meals included: breakfast, lunch

Day 4We’ll start our day with a Black Hills guided sightseeing tour. Visit Bear Country U.S.A., a wonderful drive-thru zoo, before heading to Mt. Rushmore – the “Shrine to Democracy” – with time for photos and the museums. Mt. Moriah Boot Hill Cemetery tour, Wild Bill Hickok’s final resting place, is a must see. Then we’ll stop at Tatanka, the Story of the Bison. This Lakota (Sioux) interpretive center displays authentic campsite and buffalo jump sculptures. Your evening is free in Deadwood. Meals included: breakfast

Day 5Drive today to Devil’s Tower National Monument, our nation’s first national monument and enjoy a walk around the tower before a picnic lunch. Enroute to Sheridan, we’ll pass through areas where many battles of the Old West were fought between the U.S. Cavalry and Sioux, Cheyenne and Crow Indians. We’ll spend the night Sheridan, Wyoming. Meals included: breakfast, lunch

Day 6Relax and enjoy the spectacular view as your coach climbs high into the Big Horn Mountains through alpine meadows and open grasslands. Look out for moose and mule deer! We’ll learn about pioneer life at the Buffalo Bill Historic Center, a five museum complex. Optional white water rafting on the Shoshone River is available this afternoon. Whoop it up at the famous Cody Night Rodeo where bareback riding, calf roping and bull riding are just a few of the rugged events we will see. We’ll overnight in Cody, Wyoming. Meals included: breakfast

Day 7Today we will visit Mammoth Hot Springs, Fountain Paint Pots, the geyser basins and Old Faithful Geyser. We will enter Yellowstone National Park’s Northeast entrance to see hot springs, abundant wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Enjoy lunch on your own at Mammoth Hot Springs. We’ll spend the night in West Yellowstone, Montana. Meals included: breakfast

Day 8On our last full day, we’ll travel through West Yellowstone, Montana & Idaho Falls, Idaho. Then, we’ll continue to Jackson, Wyoming and enjoy the views before our farewell dinner and our final evening. Meals included: breakfast and dinner
