Psalm 139 (AMP)God’s Omnipresence and Omniscience.

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I

was being formed in secret, And intricately and skillfully formed

[as if embroidered with many colors] (curiously wrought in the lowest parts

of the earth – KJV) in the depths of the earth.Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;

and in Your book were all written.

What is sexuality?It is wonderful!

Page 6: Wonderfully Made

It’s about `identity’, and the way we choose to express it.

Sexuality ‘knows no age’: we are conceived into a sexual existence, and we will grow old in it until we die (Hirsch, 2015: chapter 8).

What is sexuality?It is wonderful!

Page 7: Wonderfully Made

Our sexuality is described as being an ‘access point’ for others to find God. In this context, our capacities to have relationships, make us human, but also make us Godlike.

Sexuality is about ‘passion and pain’ to go beyond self, as is our spiritual quest in life (Hirsch, 2015: Chapter 1).

1 Thessalonians 4:3-6It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, (that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor [being available for God’s purpose and separated from things profane] AMP) (Learn to appreciate and give dignity to your body, not abusing it, as is so common among those who know nothing of God. MSG), not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister.

Why should we talk about Sexuality?

Page 10: Wonderfully Made

As believers of Jesus Christ we need to:

•Help the world realise that our sexuality is wonderfully made, precious, intricate, complicated and with a very Godly purpose that is wholesome and very fulfilling!

•Deal with our perceptions of sexuality, and allow God’s purpose and plan to direct our prayers, thoughts and actions.

Sexuality development before birth.

It is wonderful!

God’s perfect plan for our sexuality in the womb:

•We would be conceived in love, and after the explosion of conception, our spirit would be ‘alive’.

•We would have healthy sensory responses through our skin (the first source of sensory response)

Page 12: Wonderfully Made

•That our internal sexual parts would develop perfectly as completely male or completely female by 7-8 weeks

•That our external genitalia would develop perfectly and completely by 10-12 weeks.

•That the hormonal wash, causing sexual differentiation in the brain at 6 months, be complete. This will wire the child with a healthy male or female sexual brain capacity.

Psalm 139: 13-16 (Message)Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb.I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!Body and soul, I am marvelously made!I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.
