WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US TO PRAY THE

STATIONS OF THE CROSS AT 12:15 P.M. ON

FRIDAYS DURING LENT: We will begin on Friday,

March 3 and all are welcome. There will be a sign-up

sheet in the church entryway for a leader for each

week’s devotion.

Quote for the week… February 26, 2017 - 8th Sunday in Ordinary Time

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (material wealth).” Matthew 6:24

For many people, God and money run “neck and neck” as their first priority. Making money and

spending money becomes the center of their life and they actually become a slave to money. The

solution is to become more generous. Giving money to Church and charity frees us from slavery to

money and from making money a “god” before God.

The 2017 Idaho Catholic Appeal will take place the weekend of March

11-12 in every parish in Idaho which makes up the Diocese of Boise.

This year’s theme, Our TRUST is in the LORD, reminds all of us who generously promote and support the appeal

of our divine nature to be people of gratitude and witnesses of faith. It reminds us to share our gifts for the

benefit of over 20 diocesan ministries. A wide range of ministries depend on our generous support including

Catechesis Office, Seminarian Vocations Program, and Idaho Retired Priests.

Sister Regina recollections: Sister Regina is writing an auto-biography and is requesting information from the

community from St. Charles for the time she was here. (She left in 200.7) Responses to: 1) How was a Woman of

Mercy needed in the West being a great distance from her home base in the East? 2) What was done by her to

build community? 3) How did she serve the poor, the sick, the un-educated (the Mercy Charities)? 4) How did she

bolster Church life and development? Each contributor should date and personalize their testimonial. She

would need these to be emailed to her at [email protected] and would appreciate hearing from

anyone that wants to help her in this task. Please contact Maureen at 720-5662 if you would like to contribute

but don't have access to a computer. She didn't note a timeline but I would guess sooner than later to get this

THE 2017 IDAHO CATHOLIC APPEAL WEEKEND IS

COMING UP ON MARCH 11/12 in every parish in Idaho

which makes up the Diocese

of Boise. This year’s theme,

Our TRUST is in the LORD,

reminds all of us who gener-

ously promote and support the appeal, of our divine

nature to be people of gratitude and witnesses of

faith. It reminds us to share our gifts for the benefit

of over 20 diocesan ministries. A wide range of minis-

tries depend on our generous support including the

Catechesis Office, Seminarian Vocations Program, and

Idaho Retired Priests. All registered parishioners will

be receiving a letter from the Bishop with a brochure

and pledge form inviting participation in support

of this year’s Idaho Catholic Appeal. Please complete

the pledge form and bring it to Mass to place in the

offertory basket, or you may mail it directly to the

diocese. If you do not receive a pledge form in the

mail, you will find some in the parish entryway. Your

generosity will allow our Catholic community to con-

tinue the many vital programs and services that touch

the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ who

need your assistance. Our parish goal for this year is

100% participation and $27,920.
