Wooden barrelWooden barrels are one of the accessories more used when finalizing a diorama, as they bring greater realism to the scene. This guide shows how to paint a wooden barrel with precision, in a very realistic way and with great definition around the wooden texture.

A layer of Surface Primer Black 70.602 is airbrushed and then two thin layers of Grey 74.601.

With Woodgrain 70.828 glazes are applied for greater detail on the woods.
Very subtle glazes are applied to the grain of the wood with Japan Uniform WWII 70.923 and Dark Sand 70.847.
Lastly, Intermediate Green 70.891 is applied to some grooves on the barrel to simulate moss.

Washes are applied with Sepia 72.091 and a little bit of Flat Earth 70.983 no define further the woods.
To create different wood effects the barrel is painted with several colors: Japan Uniform WWII 70.923, Flat Earth 70.983 and Orange Brown 70.981.
